Great, Simple, and useful little application.
This is a great and simple and quite useful application for everyone. It could be improved for accuracy, especially when the phone is laid on its back... but I didn't expect scientific precision either out of a phone or music device.
Love the display and its fast and adjusts quickly.. allows for calibration. One of my favorite apps thus far purely for the level of quality of the application.

Does what it says
This is a great little application for anyone who has to occasionally measure an angle and inexplicably left home without a protractor!
It is very easy to calibrate and certainly accurate enough to estimate a gradient. It is quick and simple to use and the display is first rate.
The help file could be improved but given the simplicity of the application it really dosen't take much to work it out.

Can't Calibrate
This looks nice but is way off by default (around 20 degrees or so) and I can't figure out how to calibrate it. With no way to contact the developer to ask for help this is a useless app. I would have thought that part of the Itunes screening process would be to ensure there was a point of contact for assistance. Anyway Peter, if you're out there, how do I set-up this thing?
Edit
Thanks the person above but this doesn't work for me. I suspect that part of the problem is that my accelerometers are way off by defualt - I can't access the calibration routine if the phone is level as the app shows 20 degrees and this is outside its tolerance. However, I've been to able calibrate games successfully so I can't see why this app should be any different. I'm still frustrated by the lack of support from the dev- I don't expect onsite support for 60p but an email address would be nice.

Feedback improvement
Very useful and well-designed. Would be even better if you could switch on the >>camera<< when using it so it can be like a real clinometer! i.e. view through the lens. The designers web site url has no conact info and the support url is the same.
Excellent!
This is a superb little application that does one thing and does it well.
When you start it up, place your iP upright on a flat surface and hold it vertical: the button at the bottom says 'Calibrate Bottom Down'. (When it just says 'Calibrate' that means it isn't ready. Perhaps a design tweak could help here?) Press 'Calibrate Bottom Down' when the green lines top and bottom are as short as possible - which means it's vertical. Repeat this process when you're holding the top or bottom edge against a vertical surface - the button then says 'Calibrate Left Up' or 'Right Up'.

Very cool...
Interface is fantastic, responsive, can be quite acurate and very fun. Level your paintins, your snooker table - or like me, just for fun...
Gorgeous
Great looking app & wrll thought out what more would you need from an inclinometer. Maybe toggle speech? So you could sight along the side and listen to the angle if you were maybe triangulating the height of a tree or checking the angle of the sun. oh and maybe a hold button too? But top marks so far for a spanking looking app and the calibrate function

Superb!
WOW! If you're in the construction industry or a surveyor this is a superb little application.
Once calibrated it seems to be very accurate (I have checked the angles I have measured using trigonometry and it is spot on)
Well done - just what I've been looking for - makes superb use of the iphone's accelerometers.

Clinometer
This is a perfect app. I'm so happy it was written and look forward to more.
