This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
To organize your gifts better you can now assign one of 4 states: "idea", "buy", "bought" and "given away".
Added shopping list tab: gifts that are marked with the "buy" state" automatically appear on your shopping list. Great for christmas shopping.
From now on only the shopping list will show totals.
Gift lists show the inserted photo as preview instead of the gift icon.
Design and layout improvements.

It took a little longer than expected to finish this update but here it is: version 3.0 - it fixes all the issues from the App Store ratings due to the outdated app.
You can now add friends manually.
Added the ability to update all birthdays and photos from your contacts.
Gift list shows total prizes.
In the overview you can see also the age of the person.
You can now edit preset holidays and add your own holidays / wedding date or other special dates.
The app is now an "universal App" for iPhone and iPad.
The look of the app changed and it is now optimized for iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 plus and the iPad. It also got a new app icon.
iOS 7 and iOS 8 compatibility.
If you like the update, miss a feature or something nags you consider rating the app in iTunes.
UPDATE NOTICE: the old app stored photos of your friends in a quality that did not fit the needs of todays retina displays. After updating to version 3.0 all photos of your friends will be deleted. You can go into the settings and choose "update friends", this will set all photos from your address book in high quality.

Gift Idea enables you to gather different kinds of presents designed for your loved ones. You can then choose a proper gift from the range of articles collected throughout the year for birthday, christmas or any other events.
Once you have discovered a suitable item whilst doing your shoppings, just use your iphone and launch Gift Idea to take a photo of it. After that you can assign the photographed object to any person listed in your addressbook. In case the person's birthday is known you will see how many days are left.
By using Gift Idea you will never again experience the embarrassing moments of not knowing what to present.
