Needs improvement
The app has a major glitch. Sometimes it doesn't update at all even after trying a couple of times to reopen or change the settings. It keeps showing the last page I've been reading when I click on another news/page.
iPad registration broken
If you sign up for the paid subscription on the iPad, you may find that you have problems with the app crashing when you try to register so that you can use it on other devices. The form works fine on the iPhone, though, and the app is smart enough to realize that if you are subscribed on one, then you are subscribed on the other…

Great app!
Attractive, well-designed app, makes good use of screen space. The content is, of course, fantastic. :) I love the breaking news alerts. Impressive timing-- occasionally faster than the broadcast channels-- linked to solid articles.

It's nice to have a French paper around for free quick to hand and easy to navigate.
There are some issues, my video doesn't work at all, and the interface could be better, but it is a simple way to get free French news which is especially important for all us students trying to study French and running around trying to buy newspapers.

Great, but why can't we disactivate flash?
Overall, I have to echo everyone's feedback. Quality news, no adds, well organized. However, I was prompted once to receive Flash Info, last minute news. I said "yes". Unfortunately, I can't diasactivate it or make it silent: it pops up on my screen with a "sing" sound at the middle of the night (they are issued during day time in Europe and I am in California). If anyone knows how to, thank you for posting it.

How do I get the English version?
This app is supposedly available in English but there does not seem to be any way to convert it from French. I've looked through the app, been on the support site and I can't find out how to do it anywhere. If an English version is advertised they should actually provide some support literature in English as well.

App bien conçue; peut être améliorée
Étant un étudiant américain qui habite la région métropolitaine de New York, je préfère le New York Times comme source d'information principale; mais l'application fabriquée par ce dernier est pleine de "bugs" et de publicités, ce qui la rend vraiment instable. Cette application par Le Monde, en revanche, est bien conçue et réceptive, et fait de la lecture en ligne des nouvelles un vrai plaisir. J'attribuerais 5 stars à cette app si elle offre un réglage qui permet de désactiver l'affichage automatique des photos quand l'iPhone est tourné de côté, et si les paragraphes étaient alignés à gauche plutôt que justifiés, afin d'éviter de grands espaces au milieu de la ligne.
As an American student from the Greater New York area, my favorite news source is the NYTimes, but its app is rife with bugs and invasive ads that make it totally unusable. On the other hand, I love reading news with this app from Le Monde - it is well-designed and very responsive. I'd give it 5 stars if there is a mechanism to turn off the automatic display of photos when the phone is turned sideways, and if paragraphs are left-aligned rather than justified (to avoid large whitespaces in the middle of the line).
