A decent Japanese dictionary for the advanced learner
This is a Japanese-only dictionary, and so it requires some proficiency in the language to get the most out of. It includes indications for non-Jouyou kanji, and allows lookup for unusual or archaic alternative writings for words. A nice feature is the ruigo tab that appears in many definitions, and provides lists of synonyms for these words.
With version 4.0, they have added a handwritten kanji IME, which is a major improvement. It makes this a far more practical dictionary for those occasions when you aren't sure of the reading of the word that you are looking up.
