Spend time on the lite version before buying
Coming back to find a tank full of dead baby fish is depressing and disturbing and not fun!
It's all very well to say they die because we are trying to breed outside our level but how are we meant to know beforehand? All I have had are the starter fish and the fish I have bred from those. And early in the game you don't have the money or time to have researched just in case.
This isn't about realism, if I started breeding fish in real life I would research and *know* what I'm doing. In this game the only way I've known which fish are out of level is because they died.
I set it on easy so goodness knows how bad it would be on hard. I also check the fish regularly feed them and turn time off at night.
Personally I'm not having fun just a nagging worrying feeling I need to check on them.
Other issues: On an iPod the fish are very small and there is no zoom function. If you buy a second type of medicine you lose the first. The fact the dead fish lie in the tank waiting for you to come back and then drag them to the trash.
Because this was half price I didn't play the free version as long as I should. Lots of people clearly love this game but I am just going to delete it. I would urge you to play the free version for at least a few days.

Love this app!!
Tricky to start with, found some great tips in reviews. When you buy a snail you expect it to be a fair size and easy to spot, but it took 12 hrs for me to find him. Tiny thing doing a great job.
Bought the full version, well worth the money as you can have the 20 per tank instead of just 7 which I found restricting.
Off to sell some fish!

Awesome lite version.heaps of fun. Got 4 magic fish so far with one of them being a money maker. Cheers last day of work!
Found a $275 fish
I've got 4 of the magic fish so far and one came with the recomended price of $275. I think the lite version really only makes it harder cause you can only have 14 fish (or 13 with seahorse) instead of up to 60 with the full version. It's a bit misleading in the shop where it says you can have 20 fish per tank and how it says you can buy a third tank later in the help part.

Pretty Good
This game is very good and a fun thing to play in short bursts but as some people have mentioned the controls and buttons used in Fish Tycoon need to be made a little more finger friendly in the species menu when you try to change the price of a fish it is hard to use the buttons
Also for those complaining about not being able to play music while in this game, turn off the sound effects and double click on the menu button on your iPhone and press play
Overall this is an excellent game and would recommend you get this game!!

Very worthwhile for a free app!!!
Very worthwhile to download and to those that say that you have to check many times a day, well just do do what I do and click the stop time button then get back to it when u have time. Though starting off is a big of a trouble because fish keep dying so mayb stick with a good breed till u have enough to improve ur environment. I think it would be useful to click on the charts when selling fish to get tips:) it really helps (I used to sell fish b4 they got to 100yrs but the chart gave a tip that said that fish didn't die of old age which saved slot of trouble)
Overall I think it's one of the best apps around!!!!! Get it , it's worth it!!! ;)))

Wow
It's soooo awesome!!! I love this game :) I'm addicted to it now... It's just so great. Hard to start but if you complete all the researches it's really easy, now I have like 20000$ and almost all the magic fish, I would had bought the app if it wasn't because of iTunes regulations were you can only buy songs and videos but not apps with the iTunes card :L

Excellent game
Got the lite version and am addicted! Love it. Shame i can't buy the full version and transfer all my hard work- can you make it update the lite version when bought? Also, just need to sort the shop out. Either, give us more things to do while we're waiting for fish to sell or allow us to leave the shop and continue selling. Can't wait for new updates!!

I love this game, even at work i eep sneaking away to check my aquarium.
My only comment would be maybe making getting money a bit easier at the start. i keep losing all my fish to disease when i go to bed cause i cant afford to upgrade my environment.
otherwise i love it and would definatly pay for it.

This game is just so cool! I love playing it and I'm always going back to check my fishies!
Tips on playing: Don't breed different fish together to much at the start of the game (since you have no good environment they'll probably die. Find a good breed ($17 or more) that doesn't die in your tank and keep breeding and selling it till you have enough money for top environment. When you've done that, buy some more normal fish eggs (rare ones aren't worth the price) and breed different species together till you find all the magic fish. Don't be tempted to change the time on your iPod to speed it up, sometimes it rewinds or restarts your game!
Oh, and if you feed your fish too much (when they're not hungry) their health will go down.
btw, overnight u should put time in the game into 1/2 speed so they don't die if u hav low enviro. Also, when u get into the game u can double-tap the menu button to start ur music again.
Oh and don't bother buyin the full version no offence but there ain't much diff.
