So close to 5 stars...
This is an exceptional app with some great features (such as checking friends birthdays from contact list etc)
But... It is seriously let down by the hideous icon!
I know that might be a petty reason to lose a star, but it is a very bad icon.
Aside of that, 5 stars all the way. Many useful little features that put other similar apps to shame.Show lessLOA_Guru

Tzolkin Explorer best mayan calendar app
Beats the rest hands down. Accurate info, no new age freakiness, and easy to use. Wish it would add finding a tzolkin day as well as Julian day, and please add K'iche' names for the days. Thanks.chuchkajow
Inaccurate
Looks good, but what's the point if the calculations are inaccurate. Have crossed references with several other sites and formulas, and this app is always the "oddball". Get the days right and this would be a good app. Nice look. Good descriptions, but alas... useless :(ERIK GUTIERREZ
Off Cycle
Although the appearance and structure of the app are attractive; there is absolutely no accuracy within the calculations of dates. I have referenced 3 other sources including a manual decoding formula and come up with the same kin; this app will then provide a different one. If this app is for entertainment only then it deserves 5 stars but if u truly adhere to the tzolkin this app will misguide u and deprive u of synchronicity.Show less9 Ether

It is good to see an app based on the Mayan Tzolkin and not corrupted as much of the internet has by the modern re-invention/integration of the "Dreamspell" system. I haven't been conscious of this system long enough to analyze the information and interpertation of each sign in the app. The presentation and representation of the symbols is good. I think we are all really on our own to observe how and if each days symbols affects our lives and interactions with others of kin and different signs. I feel the system is auto-didactic if it is to have any validity at all and I am skeptical of the influence of modern cosmologists and weavers.
The addition of a monthly gregorian calender as shown on the programmers website would be good as it shows the complex procession of symbols and helps one identify/anticipate ones combinational Mayan "birthdays"/ energy purge days. Though retrospective analysis and day to day consultation may be more illuminating for the true student seeking to avoid preconceptions. Also it is good to see an app that is not preoccupied with the impending 2012 baktun conjunction. This is a good tool for those really interested in investigating the astrological beliefs, the wheels within wheels and the cosmic clockwork of the Mayans and if and how they effect our lives.Show lessDaVeR333
Awesome App
Great app - the contacts section is particulary handy and gets you thinking about your friends and family from a Mayan perspective even if you've not drawn up a chart for them so great for learning Mayan astrology too. Brilliant that it's not dreamspell, not sure what that's all about but it definately doesn't fit with any of my informal research. Only thing missing is a date book for birthdays and events that arn't already in your contacts. Perhaps linking into your iphone calendar would be neat for events planning. Much better than iMaya
Another reviewer mentioned iMaya as a better app for the mayan calendars so I bought the app thinking it would give me some more insights to the days meanings. Well I was wrong! The Tzolkin Explorer app is much better in giving an understanding of the days possibilities. I do however wish there were some instructions on how to use and interpret this app even if it was on the web site. I do have to give great thanks to the developer for providing this app for free!
