Game-breaking bug
I encountered a position where, after Queenside castling as white, the computer on the highest difficulty setting made no move as Black and yet somehow put me in check. The same thing happened 3 times in a row after using the undo feature. Up to that point though the app is fine, hence 3 stars.
Option to turn off stalemate?
I get that I’m not the best chess player in the world. But why does it almost always have to be stalemate? Other apps will let you make as many moves as it takes to overtake your opponent’s last piece and actually win! I wish their was an option to turn off stalemate. Makes it boring for someone like me. I like to chip away all my opponent’s pieces and then corner the King. But you can’t do that in this version of Chess like you can in other versions in the App Store unless you do it within an unknown number of moves. Frustrating to me for that reason

Superb
This chess app is my absolute favourite ! It is lightening fast, perfect appearance (colours and overall design) and a pleasure to play with. A massive bonus is its free from adverts. Nuff said !👍
Music can’t be turned down, just loops forever
I don’t like that I have to turn down my phones volume to turn down the ‘on hold’ music (that just loops and loops). I like to listen to podcasts on my phone or audio in general while playing chess. This app will not allow you to do that. FYI buyer beware.
Good App, But there are glitches
App is fundamental good, but there have been instants where you are checkmated, but the app only says check and lets you try to move even though there are no viable spots for you to move to. Wish that could be updated, but other than that it is a great app that I enjoy.
Always Calls Draw
Why is it that every time I am one move away from Checkmate the app will call a draw and not allow me to make the winning move? Irritating to feel like I’m playing a virtual cheater lol
Hard CPU(Computer)
The level of difficulty is intense I have never lost so many times as White Side.
Great.
Great offline chess game. Simple and nothing complex. Shame it doesn't upscale to iPad so this is the only reason it loses a star, otherwise it’s great.
Computer cheats on higher difficulties, but overall a great way to play chess on the run
I’ve noticed that the AI like to treat the knight as if it can be skipped over. That can be infuriating, especially when you’re “in check” from behind a piece blocking the checking piece.
Other than that, i’d say the AI could use a little but of a nerf. I could go toe-to-toe with Level 7 difficulty in Microsoft Chess, however, i have yet to beat (what i assume to be) level 5 on this app.
Other than that, this greatly supplements my chess addiction, and that’s enough to rate it 4 stars

Been playing this for years
I really like this 2D version and always play against the computer. The only thing which hasn’t been resolved yet that I would like is the ability to see which pieces you and your opponent have taken as you have to do a quick recount of the board
