Description of Wind

Wind-Aid is an aviation tool used to calculate the crosswind and headwind when the runway, wind direction and wind speed are known. Wind-Aid takes advantage of the iPhone and iPod Touch's unique touch features to provide the user with a fast, simple and intuitive user experience. Users input the runway by turning a dial, the wind direction is set by turning an arrow and wind speed is set by dragging a slider to the appropriate value.

Reviews of Wind

  • Great App

This type of app needs to be simple and quick. No entering numbers. Just pull the sliders around where they should be. It is a little sensitive on the iphone due to the limited screen size, but on the ipad it is wonderful. Never worried about the exact winds so much, by my new employer has real strick wind limitations for every different braking action report. This simplifies it.

Nice idea but setting the wind direction dial is too sensitive . It always seems to go off a few degrees when I remove my finger off the screen . I'd rather type in a figure....
  • Well Done!!!

In the cockpit it's tough to mess with buttons and the flywheel entry of all the data is handy! ...and easy to see what you're dealing with in both numbers and graphical representation. I like it and LOVE it for the price!
