Collins French Dictionary User Reviews

Excellent resource for students of the French language

Quick and easy to use. It provides a very useful ‘history’ section which can be used as a learning tool for words previously looked up. Also, there is the option of hearing French words and phrases fluently spoken.

Functional and comprehensive

But the product—which I paid $20 for—asks me to rate it five stars every time it opens. This impedes usage of the app, forcing you to click through the pop-up, and is also, even existentially, extremely annoying. No one should be constantly asked to perform this free labour and service for an app that is so costly! Maybe stick with the website (which is free) if you can, until they fix this annoying problem.

Excellent

Love it!

Daily annoying message!

It keeps sending me the same new word, day after day, in English, my mother tongue!

This is not the full Collins French

The Ultralingua version is the full Collins French dictionary, not this one. It’s missing some of the example sentences.

Keeps asking for ratings.

And keeps making me buy it again each time I get a new phone. Acceptable performance as a dictionary.

Ariel

Le dictionnaire est complet, facile d'usage, compact et simple d'utilisation. Je le recommande à tous. Un essentiel.

Great dictionary

Once you get the hang of how to use this (which is pretty easy) then it's a great and very handy tool. Plenty of detail, so much better than relying on an app like google translate.

Dictionary

Excellent reference.

Yesterday’s technology

Whilst the paper dictionary have helped me over the years this version is just poor.
