6.2.1

May 25, 2016

Version 6.2.1 - Fixed duplicate albums showing up when filtering by Playlist. ---- Version 6.2 New Features - Album Artist support: it's back and better than ever! Well, as good as ever, anyway. Thanks for your patience. - Search by Composer: Enjoy all those Beatles covers at once. - Edge to Edge Landscape Display: nothing but you and your beautiful albums. If this is simply too much browsing pleasure for you, you can re-enable the top and bottom bars in Settings. - More 3D Touch: now supported in album list and on Artist, Album, and Song search results - Auto-hide cloud music when you lose internet connection. Additional Search Improvements - Gesture-based navigation: Pull down to enter or dismiss search. - Search filter: filter an album's tracks by your current search (for Genre, Playlist, and Composer searches). - Your last search filter is always remembered, rather than defaulting back to Artist search on fresh launch. - New option to disable volume gestures. Visual Tweaks - Font choice: don't like Avenir Next? Choose a different font in Settings. - Album panning tweaks including a subtle parallax effect. - Backgrounds are slightly more vibrant, while keeping text readable. Bug Fixes - Yep, those too. Sad News - I've removed the Album Shuffle feature (at least for now) since iOS no longer supports it. :_(

  • No More Gray Background?!

This was my favorite music app because it had a dark gray background I could use at night to listen to music when going to bed and not expose myself to bright blue light computer screen which disrupts circadian rhythms and makes it harder to fall asleep. Now in the latest 2022 version the background is bright cream white and there does not appear to be a Setting to change it back to dark theme mode. If you want to provide bright background as the display default that's fine but at least give your existing users a preference option to change it back to original dark background. Yet another iOS app I relied on for years then a change was made that makes it unusable for my purposes, oh well, DELETE!

  • Offers Something New

This adds functionality the default app would (in my ideal world) have built in. Being able to see an attractive spread of albums to pick from reduces the cold impersonality of digital libraries. Lots of customizability. Would love even more choices.

Update: Thank you for adding the widget with random albums! I love it and use it daily. Wonderful app.

  • Has flaws, but is my favorite hands down.

It looks and feels great and the grid view of all your albums is great. Some people may not like it, but I love that the album order is randomized so it shows me something different when I don't know what to listen to. When I do however, the search function and recently played albums are immediately accessible. The app is generally fast and it's animations are smooth and tactile.

There aren't any make or break bugs for me, but occasionally I have to force quit to get it to work and for whatever reason the game changes your loop playback setting to what it feels like sometimes. Honestly my main issue is that I feel like I have to live with any bugs the app has forever, because I'm not sure if we're going to get another update. Please David, come back to this app, it's fantastic! I would gladly pay a small yearly subscription for it.
