Great tool

Fantastic app. Easy to use, does what it says on the tin. Great for film, photo, sailors and outdoors activities!

Best of its kind

Please give option to show a countdown until sun sets or rises.
Please give option to show words instead of images. You have their translation in the help, but frequently have to look it up.

Other than that, I love the app and I use it all the time.
Thank you!

Simple and effective

I was surprised by the simple yet effective presentation of the information. I have been using a widget to get this information on my iMac, so it was nice to find a free app for the iPhone 4.

Great App

This is a simple app I use to estimate when to end outdoor activities like biking or hiking. Worked perfect. Would give five stars for the addition of numbers for the clock hands to point at.

Exactly what I wanted

This app presents daytime/nighttime hours in a clear, meaningful, and pleasing way. It's a very simple app that does just one job very well. In the past I have found all-in-one weather or astronomical programs that do show you the same information non-graphically, as a list of numbers. I much prefer this presentation.

Gorgeous and easy to use

My hobbies include photography and running, so I often find myself looking up all three dawn and sunset times. This app makes it easy to see, at a glance, when the light will be of different qualities. Perfect for checking the light before getting out of bed and lacing up the sneakers (urban settings and west facing windows make that hard to judge!).

Elegant app

I can't wait for daylight plus! Hopefully it is still in the making?

Best of the free sunrise / sunset apps!

I spent over an hour trying out all the free "time of sunrise / sunset" apps I could find (there were around 10 of them), and this is the one I think is the best, for the following reasons:

1) It acknowledges and provides useful info, in layman's terms, regarding the fact that it gets bright before sunrise, and stays bright after sunset

2) It allows one to see how sunrise & sunset will vary as the calendar varies (the daytime/nighttime "clock" display changes as you change the date)

3) It automatically determines your location, but, according to the support page, allows for manual setting if, for some reason, the automatic method fails (it didn't fail in my case, so I didn't get to try this out)

4) Except for a brief mention in the help section about an upcoming version with an extra feature or two called "Daylight Plus", there are no ads.

5) The times are accurate

6) There's an easter egg in it having to do with the moon. Visit the developer's support page for info about that. I think he's cool to have this little feature, but not to boast about it in his iTunes writeup.

The only minus is that the graphics are plain, not fancy - but that is not enough of a negative to cause me to subtract rating points.

Five stars and job well done!

Hawt

This app is simple and beautiful, not overdone or filled with gimmick features. It's also one of the few free apps I have seen that pinpoints your location AND tells you the Latitilude and Longitude to 8 decimal places AND shows you in Maps if you so choose. Amazingly accurate with good cell service. The twilight times are usually dead on, although the sun will obviously appear to set a tad later from a mountain top than in a valley.

Great little app

Really nice graphics and a fun little app to have on my iPod touch. A must for anyone interested in the time! :D
