Very Helpful but Lacking
The App is helpful but a lot of boat ramps are not on it. there is a ramp 1 mile from my house that has been around since the 1980s and isnt listed. but it did show a couple that no one knew of.

Complete waste of money. None of the municipal or Dept of Natural Resources landings that I use most often in Wisconsin are here.

Great app. I haven't found anything like it and when I looked online in my area i couldn't find one site that itemized all the local boat ramps. I would like to know details about each boat ramp. Maybe people can write reviews on each boat ramp? Overall good app! The update is great!!!! User friendly.

Great Start
Does what it claims - lists tons of boat ramps in my area, and gives their location, phone number and driving direction (via map).
But I hope they add more info. There is no information that would help you determine suitability for your boat. Some of the ramps listed are strictly for very small boats or are very rustic and difficult to get to. I would like to see at least a mention of the ease of access and the boat size suitabiilty. (Fee or free would also be nice, but that is probably asking too much.)
Well worth the $0.99, but I would pay more for more daata.

Not as good as it could be, much less useful than it should be
I am disappointed with this App.
In my area of Canada (Toronto region), multiple boat ramps are missing from the listing.
Adding my own entry requires me to know and type in the exact latitude and longitude of the location. It does NOT allow me to make use of the built in GPS on the iPhone 3Gs to establish the new ramp location. It doesn't even allow me to use the iPhone map application to show and select the location.
More annoying, the new entries are NOT immediately added to the ramp list in the application. My new entry is merely submitted to the app seller for future addition to their database!
You can not search by the name of the Ramp, nor the Canadian Postal Code. The App always shows ramp locations on both sides of the US/CAN border - this should be selectable.
The Settings panel does not allow you to choose miles or kilometres for distance to search from current location. It doesn't even show that the Search radius is in miles.
When you search by City, it still shows ramps outside the city, if they are within the Search radius.
Information regarding the actual launch ramps is minimal. No info on ramp condition, number of lanes, parking facilities, cost to use ramp or parking, operating hours or seasons/dates, water depth, dock space, washrooms, etc.
No info regarding how old the information for each ramp location is. Launch ramps can change status over time, sometimes they need repair, or are no longer available for use.
No photos of the launch area, but it will show you a map view of just one ramp location at a time, and you can turn on satellite view, which uses the regular map app on the iPhone.
It could be much better. It needs to have more complete and more useful data regarding the actual ramps and related facilities, better usability, better user interface, more flexibility for categorizing and finding ramps. You should be able to add your own ramps to the list on your own iPhone, and have them immediately be included.
I did not find a way to tag favourite ramps, or mark/exclude ramps which were not of interest (unusable, not suitable for my boat, etc).
A method of ranking ramps in terms of maintenance, facilities, parking, costs, vehicle security and so on would be welcome. Rankings of others, and my own personal ratings for the ramps I know and use.
