App changed
All of a sudden instead of seeing today’s weather and 10 days out I am seeing 5 days ago and only 5 out. I have been happy with this app for years until now! Pease fix or will need to be finding a new app! I really don’t care what the weather was 5 days ago!
App No Longer Functional
As of this writing (4/27/26), app has become bricked and no longer updates. Last update was for last week. Closing, refreshing, restarting… nothing. This app and station are circling the drain.
Update is Terrible
They pushed a major update through recently which borderline ruined the app. Its to the point where it is straight up dangerous due to its lack of functionality (tornado season here). Having to move to other apps after only using this one for who knows how many years. Shame.
Bring back old look
New update is bad. Go back to the way it was. A lot better then. The older version was easier to navigate
Recent App Update
With the most recent App update it feels more like the Radar app has taken steps backwards. The app was much better and had a better look than it does now.
Never get alerts on time
Anytime there’s rain or a storm this app NEVER gives out alerts until a good 30minutes to an hour after the storm has passed. At least Fox 6 weather app gives you a few minutes to prepare while this ABC 33/40 app will get someone killed because the alerts NEVER go out before hand. And yes I have it set to alert me as well as push notifications enabled… and I thought you guys were supposed to be the “weather authority”… what a joke

Radar is Nodar
I appreciate James Spann and all he does for Alabama , but this app just doesn’t work right. The radar doesn’t load. I go all kind of erroneous alerts. It does load in ALFA ads… PUKE!
The opening splash age…
This was my go-to app for weather. Lately the radar is inaccurate and worse, it is inconsistently so if you zoom in or out. The opening Alfa Insurance page holds way too long and it re-loads if one navigates away from the app and back to it.
It’s really sad because the 33/40 weather team is top-notch. It’s a shame the app represents them so poorly.

Crunch time
When the weather is hazardous, when you need a weather app the most, this app can’t handle the bandwidth. After waiting for the interminable nag screen, the radar data will not load when too many users are trying to view it.
Radar Scan Is Invalid
After many years of trusting this weather application, I have noticed, recently, that the radar is completely erroneous. This issue has been apparent for several months, when compared to other scans from other applications. Currently, relying on this application for important weather notifications, and safety preparedness, is a foolhardy endeavor. Beware, it is dangerous to trust this weather scan! It is flat out wrong.
Additionally, I am utterly astonished that James Spann, a highly reputable meteorologist, would affix his reputation to this abysmal application. Looks like I’m back to relying on The Weather Channel for reliable information.

Very inaccurate
When seconds count…
I’ve heard many times that seconds count… but far too many seconds are spent on the meteorologist picture when you first open this app… regardless if you’re opening from an alert/notification or just to browse.
It’s EXTREMELY frustrating to receive a serious weather alert and then have to wait what could be CRITICAL seconds to see it because of that precious picture.
Out of the 4 weather apps I use, this is the only one that has any delay when opening.
So, if seconds count you can’t really count on this app.

Please fix this issue, it’s been going on for months on end. 24 hour radar freezes halfway through…
Reliable Weather Coverage
This is the best radar app I found for our rural area. It covers us when a lot of main stream broadcast overlook our area.

Issue with 24 hour animation
For months now the 24 hour animation has not worked properly. The animation works for 12 hours on the 24 hour screen but freezes for the last 12 hours. Also, there is no way to advise you of these issues from within the app. As a hunter, fisherman and private pilot having the 24 hour animation can give me a way to plan for the next day. Surprised no one has fixed this issue for the last several months .

24 hr viewing
I keep my app set on the 24 hr view and when I play it, it stops half way through viewing it. Says there “was” an update, but it doesn’t show there “is” an update in the App Store.
Wait for Ad Photo..Annoying
So annoying that the ads/photo of weather team pops up every single time you open it..for several seconds. Looking for a less annoying replacement.
Works half the time
Very frustrating to get an alert that lightening or a heavy rain is in my area, but go to the app and the radar shows nothing. Go to work thinking it’s going to be clear, and boom thunderstorms all day. Give me some dam info. This app is sketchy at best.
