  • Nearly everything you could want.

This is nearly everything that I could have hoped to look for in an app to make my network drives as seem as if they’re integrated into iOS. The next step would be to integrate a messages extension so that files can be navigated and shared from the app. I don’t see this being much of a problem, considering that there are other drive services who offer that.

Also, I am not sure if it is a limitation of an SMB share, or the program. The need to continue and open the app to authenticate the drives and then return to the Files app is a bit clunky. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed in future releases.

Keep up the good work! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

  • More demo than lite

This isn't so much a lite version of FileBrowser as a demo version. As others have noted, there's an upgrade ad after almost every action, and some actions have countdown timers to deliberately slow things down. Vidoes aren't played in full--they're just sampled. And some functionality (e.g., showing files in iCloud) are disabled.

Using the app on a day to day basis would be very frustrating, but for purposes of seeing what kinds of things FileBrowser can do and what it would be like to use it, it's acceptable. I'm giving the app three stars, because it let me do what I wanted to do: see what it would be like to use FileBrowser. As a standalone app, however, it's really more like one star.

  • Works well!

File Browser for Business is very useful and provides functionality that is missing on my iPhone. The interface is good but the icons could be revamped to provide a flatter, cleaner, more modern look and feel. Overall though, what matters is that File Browser for Business is stable and works smoothly with all my data files. I share files across different operating systems without any hiccups, you can actually copy and move between any kind of storage. If you are looking for an app that allows you to securely browse all of the files on your network, this is definitely a great choice. I recommend that you download and try the free File Browser Lite app to test features and connectivity.

  • Good but insistent that you buy

The app appears to work well, except that every three or so actions it pops up with a 5 second advert for the paid version. I realize that the purpose of the free version is just to see if it works for ... And that's truly all you can do with it. Will consider full version if it ever goes on sale and will look for alternatives that are cheaper.

  • Excellent !!!

I was a little hesitant about this app, but after reading the support page and contacting the developer they recommended that I try it out before I buy the full version. I very pleasantly surprised that this app does exactly what it claims it can, and in my case give me complete access to my Time Capsule from my iPhone. This is a MUST HAVE !!!

I found the ad/prompts annoying, but the functionality of this app is quite remarkable. I fumbled at first with the initial setup/connection, but once i passed that hurdle I liked responsiveness and intuitive form. The scan function works seamlessly with a vpn connection, even porting through an iPhone hotspot. I very much liked the fact that in the scan it showed the ip address. The response times were reasonable. Icon presentation during scrolling was good. One function I would like to see added, is a search function with the document view mode.

  • Try before you buy

Yes, this app will nag you, but Apple doesn't allow true trial versions of apps, so this is as good as it gets.

Take a look at the ratings for the paid version of this app to get a real perspective of what this can do.

The paid version is absolutely one of the most useful apps I own. This trial version lets you try it.

  • Very frustrating

I followed the advice and downloaded the lite version to see how it connects, etc. After EVERY attempt to do anything to test this thing it prompts you to buy the full version with a countdown clock before you can proceed.

I'm no expert so it was trail and error for me to find my Mac (which I gave up on). They need to stop with the buy me prompts every time you try something. This may be a great program but I'll never know because I'm not going to wait 10 seconds every time I try something!

I know this sounds petty but as a novice trying to use this lite version was total frustration and I won't spend the $ until I know it works...no matter how many 5 star ratings it gets.

  • 4 stars but could be 5 if ..

Downloaded the free app to test, works just like they state, might be great for home but for a network we do not want staff to see everyone else My Docs home folder. This app does not allow you to include the user’s full UNC path in the Name/IP settings. You can do a book mark that takes you right to your My Docs home folder but everyone can still see everyone else’s docs folder which freaks them out. If you allow the full UNC path in the settings, 5+stars and I would buy 50 right off the bat.

Keep up the great work your doing on this. I'm keeping an eye up for the updates to see if this has change to allow that full path.

  • File browsing network drive on iPhone

Works as advertised on my 4s. It's as easy to use as I figured it would be, since I actually READ your app description. The free version does what I needed. I tried ITOD app, but it did not have as friendly of an interface.

One thing I've noticed. When viewing a .JPG file with my iPhone held horizontally, the 2-finger zoom in/out feature seems to be disabled. What ever level of zoom you had in portrait, stays when turned to landscape. NOT a major issue, just quirky.

Otherwise, an awesome app. I had used Fing to identify my network IP addresses for initial setup.
