  • An ideal friend

I agree with the previous review, it’s not perfect, but it is like having your favourite bridge partner on call to play anything from 5 minutes up to 2 hours. You partner a robot and compare your score against fellow subscribers partnering their own robot. You get to act as declarer for your robots contracts so are never sat out as dummy. You’re either declarer or defending. You can customise your bidding to include your favourite conventions. It’s impossible to cover every scenario so occasionally frustration sets in when your robot bids erratically but isn’t that just like the real game? In the main the robot is a very reliable partner and the play of the cards is a very good standard. Beware: the defence is brutal. If there is a way your contract will fail, the defence will usually find it. But, after licking my wounds, I have found this has improved my real life games no end. Well done iBridge, this is my favourite bridge App.

  • Unbelievable distributions, stupid partners

I thought that by now and with the number of critical ratings iBridge has received, the algorithms would have changed, but I was wrong. If anything they’re worse. I’ve never seen hands like I see far too frequently- nearly every deal has one or more players with 7 or more cards in one suit, sometimes in two. Probability just doesn’t work that way - there are far more ridiculous hands than those with reasonable distractions. Bidding becomes a guessing game at best. To top it off my “partners” have doubled and redoubled with absolutely no foundation, tanking our score, and their leads make no sense. This is my second time trying to play the app - I quit. FunBridge is far more fun and more realistic.

The dealing algorithm is tried, tested and validated and deals randomly generated hands. If you’ve hit a spate of unusual distribution, this is the proverbial ‘Sods Law’ and will surely change on the next batch you play. If the long suit that you report is happening regularly, I am wondering whether you have inadvertently turned on the Lively Hands feature. This is a filter which generates particular types of hands. Please make sure this is turned off. The App Review platform is not the place for ongoing correspondence. • Excellent

Excellent program. Many options. Great for beginners excellent options for intermediate and advanced players. Any problems or questions are answered promptly and quickly resolved. Highly recommend this program
  • Very good app

Very good app to play Bridge, $20 lifetime purchase is great.
Easy to use and no freezing like funbridge.
  • Reliable

I only play the rubber game with a lifetime purchase. The price to alter my bidding system seems a little high. I have an older iPad that isn't updated past 9.3.5 iOS. It means I can't play the other app that's always advertised on the main menu. Other than these issues it works fine.
  • Worth the money

Very good Bridge program. The best I have tried. However one does have to pay for the hands and the assist and the ability to change one’s system. Then there is the cost of the duplicate feature...

However, it’s still quite a bit cheaper than going to the bridge club three times a week for a month and it is more instructive.

I have extensive experience of another Bridge app. It is cheaper than iBridge Plus (but not that much) and does not have as much functionality (no Assist and no Duplicate). The functionality it does have (Team game) is inferior. It does not bid or play the hands as well and the comparison between open and closed room is either quick and inaccurate or very laborious - the app gives you the choice!

At the bridge clubs I go to I am a better than average player but iBridge Plus tends to beat me all the time. The Assist feature is very useful. If I think that the robots are too good for me I can always compare myself against mere mortals in the Duplicate feature.

Thank you for the positive review, and indeed the cost comparison with the Bridge Club. I’d like to point out that we recently came a clear top in a comparative test by the English Bridge Union of Bridge apps, and, as well as being better, we are significantly cheaper than the others.
  • Good app for beginners

IBridge is very configurable for different styles and levels of play but even if you’re not a techie it’s an excellent product for beginners like me. I can play it on my smart phone or iPad, or PC/Mac. Very portable and an educational way of passing time in the drs office I wait room or supermarket line. I highly recommend this app.

  • iBridge plus app

Great app for improving your bidding and card play.
And if there is a problem with access, I have had 2 problems since I down loaded I’m thinking over 10 years. An email to them and the next day a response.
Travelling around the world no problems
    New phone no problems
  • IBridge is the ONLY Bridge App I use!

I think this program is the best I’ve seen and good for Beginners and Experienced Players!
  • Fantastic Bridge site

This is a great bridge site with a range of modes to play. I particularly enjoy the team game because you can compare your play with the other team and even replay it when you don’t score well to see if another tactic works better. The site even works offline which is useful for plane journeys or there is no WiFi. I recommend this site to all bridge players.
