I have been using this app for a while and nothing works better than this for studying your various kana. I was so excited that it is now redesigned! Before, the app was fuzzy and not up to date with the interface/design/keyboard. Now it works even better, has more features and is appealing to the eye. Simple, effective, and easy to use!
I started using the website because it was recommended in a really helpful Tofugu hirigana guide. It's been really useful and effective because I'm always on the go. The app version is so sleek, minimal, and easy to use! I give this a big thumbs up!konketsu

For those who, like me, check the reviews before buying apps, Please read this! Within the first 5 minutes, I had already learned 5 new kana. That's awesome! At least to me it is! And the thing I love about this above all is that it teaches pure sounds (like か), impure sounds (like が), and compounds (like ぎゃ), when I couldn't find any other apps that do. Mult-Font examples really help!
When the app tests you to identify a kana from a number of different fonts (including real world chicken scratch fonts), it really makes you think about each and every stroke in the kana! Some of the fonts are so bad, you are forced to really focus and pay attention to the strokes - this is great! Thanks for a great app! Can you add an option to adjust font size? Awesome App
This app is really great. I've just started learning Japanese and this app has really helped me learn the hiragana and katakana easily. It's just like the website. I know about 50 or more of the kana in just two days. And... To everyone out there who says you can't see how many you have right and wrong you can. Just tap on the kana and you'll see the romaji, how many right and how many wrong. Now if you'll excuse me I have lots more kana to learn...Show lessmusicboxoftime

Completely worth it, super slick!
This app, along with its online version, got me reading both hiragana and katakana in a matter of a few days. For reading recognition, this is probably the best app out there. It accomplishes its goal while being simple and sleek. Learning to read hiragana and katakana would be a lot more taxing and difficult if this app/program didn't exist. Fantastic job by the creators. Great app
This is the fastest way to learn the kana alphebets. In less then a week i could see any hiragana and know the sound(knowing sound then remembering the symbol is a different story but, thats my learning problem and ive gotten better through practice). It is very simple which adds to how easy it is. I would definately get this app if you are serious about learning japanese.
P.S. for those that want a "night" feature, set your triple click home to white on black and you are good for late night lessonsShow lessジェイコブス
Best app!!
This is seriously the best app to learn all of the Kana. This app made me learn it faster than writing it down to try to learn it by repetition. You can choose which Kana you want to be drilled on. Either just hiragana, just katakana, or half hiragana/ half katakana. Or whatever you want! It's really great.
