Fixed a issue where shortcuts ("What's playing on WXYC?", "Play WXYC") would crash. Fixed the cassette reel animations occasionally freezing up.

• Tell Siri to "Play WXYC". • Ask Siri, "What's playing on WXYC?" • Dial a DJ! Call the station with the push of a button and make a request.

This version fixes layout issues and improves loading times of album art. It also adds a home screen widget to see what's currently playing on the station right at a glance.

THE PLAYLIST IS BACK! Scroll through the feed to see what our wonderful DJs have been playing. Hit the dots to send track info and album art to an app of your choice. We also revived the retro cassette player from the old app. It just felt more.... us.... ya know? Thanks for all of the wonderful feedback on the app, please keep it coming! We've reduced the size of the app significantly and made numerous performance and UI improvements, including... A new widget that you can install on your homescreen that will show you what's currently playing on WXYC! Thanks so much for your support, feedback and feature requests. This update lays the groundwork for a number of new features coming down the pipe. -dvd

New for iOS 11, we've rebuilt the app from the ground up! Back in the heady days of 2010, Jake B. made the very first open-source WXYC iPhone app. At the time this was kind of a big deal as there weren't too many radio stations (let alone college stations) that had an app available for the iPhone. Fast-forward seven years and that app was still choogling along (with a couple updates here and there). Unfortunately, that old app just won't run on the new iOS. So, in keeping with our educational mission, it has been rebuilt by a programming novice with guidance from Jake. At the moment we're just serving up basic streaming and now-playing information, but we'll be adding more features as we go. Airplay should be working now, along with most core audio features that you've come to expect from your iDevice. We're so excited to get feedback on the app that we even added a feedback button! Send dvd a message and let him know what you'd like to see improved... but remember: we've got day jobs and we're building this in our free time because we <3 xyc... so be nice!
