Reviews of Alice for the iPad

  • Text to speech doesn’t work

Nice app with public domain text with illustrations and small animations. It would be better if it worked with the Apple text to speech function to read the text on the screen. For some this is a convenience, but for many it may make this beloved book accessible.
There are many options for the sight or print impaired to read about Alice, adding text to speech accessibility to your app would make yours an option and extend that fun multi sensory element that you’re going for to s broader audience.
  • Really quite naff

I will admit that I’m an adult reader who was curious about this app. I thought it looked a bit like the Alice pop-up book I’d had as a child. I was quite disappointed though as there’s not enough variety. All the text pages are very uninspired and dull, while there aren’t enough interactive pages for my liking - and the animations often don’t have much to do with the story. I quite liked the Cheshire Cat, however...
  • Disappointed. Not interactive at all

Nothing like the other ocean series such as dr. Seuss or little critters, where touching a word allows it to be read aloud.
