2.1.0

February 8, 2022

App now allows new mode to follow the timing tables timer, if they set "Allow others to follow timer" and give you the 4 digit follow code, you can configure your app to "Follow another timer" and as they start and stop the timer, record scores, add penalty timers, this is reflected on your app. a Caution: Do NOT bother the timing table about anything you see in your app, they are busy, this capability is intended to allow coaches to more easily see status from the timing table without interrupting them, or given a good enough signal (dependent upon iPone versions and local conditions) allow spectators to follow timing. The new companion WatchOS app is intended to allow referees to have a backup timer for things like clearing timers and shot clocks on their wrists. From the app they may configure the two timers with duration, warning indications and name. In addition, the 'Game Info' screen reflects the timing from the iPhone app, allowing them to see the state of the game info e.g. to 'follow' the timing table and therefore get a quick idea of the state of things or in extreme circumstances run the game timer from their own phone (not recommended). As this does involve networking, there is some additional drain on the battery as the devices must send out signals with the changes, some discrepancy in the timing on remote devices may occur as signals take time to be interpreted and are sometimes lost.

2.0.2

June 18, 2021

As some users were having unintentional rotation into the new landscape mode on some devices (the phone switching orientations when they did not need it), I have added a setting that enables/disables this capability, found in the configuration screen and defaulted to disabled. This seems a friendlier solution than asking them to lock the orientation of the phone.

Price History of LAX Time & Score

Description of LAX Time & Score

This is a timer meant to allow the timing and scorekeeping for sports like Lacrosse, Box Lacrosse, Hockey and Soccer where you may need to account for penalties or shot clocks. You may configure the period length up to 60 minutes and up to four penalty/shot clocks for 15 second intervals from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. If you jump to another application while timing an event, when you re-enter the LAX Timer, any countdown events are in the same state as when you left them. If you take that one minute call, that 30 second penalty clock will have counted down to zero and the time in the period will be properly reduced by a minute. You can customize the background of the screens by selecting an image from your Photo Library.

Reviews of LAX Time & Score

  • So crisply executed

Was called into action to help time keep for my sons’ lax game today. Another parent recommended this app to me after I said I’d be trying to my iPhone and Apple Watch for game time and penalty time keeping. She laughed and pointed me to this app. What an amazingly simple and perfect to the task, app. Well thought out, clean interface and a joy to use. Thinking of volunteering for the timekeeping job every weekend through the end of the season just to use this app 😃
  • Lifesaver

This app is such a huge help for coaches who have to coach AND time the game. It’s simple to use (make sure you read the instruction pages first) and no distracting ads or unnecessary fluff. Contacted support about a question and received excellent communication and a super quick adjustment to the app to help! Thank you!
  • Update works!!

Updated review. This is our go to timer for lacrosse. The last update broke everything but the developer was super quick to get it fixed and rolled back out! Thanks!!

    Developer Response

Sorry about that, fixed version currently in App Store (2.0.1) I did test on several devices as well as the simulator and did not reproduce the issue there, even after looking at customers crash reports. Landscape mode is intended to be an entirely new mode, having only the penalties, score and main timer, allowing for display on external screens. If you are getting overlaps, please send me a screen shot as well as info on your phone version as I have not seen this.
