  • Outstanding

By far the best money I have spent on any App ever.
Been using for 7 years and it would be the first thing i bought if I changed mobile platforms. Works offline, no ads, no padding just great stuff. The audio clips have narrowEd down a sighting no end of times and revealed a few surprises too.

Get it and be happy, i am 🙂 🦅

  • Great app and great support

I love this app. Easy to use, time, date and location all upload automatically. The information is accurate and comprehensive. 5 stars too for support. I had a problem with bird nos transferring to other sightings. Someone responded within a couple of days and a bug fix went live within the week!
  • Spiny apps are great

I have 5 Spiny apps and they all use the same interface which is very easy to use. Species can be identified and sightings logged with your own pictures. I especially like the ability to compare pictures of different species to help identify what you are looking at. It would be even better though, if it were possible to flick through all the pictures available and not just the ones selected. E.g. you may wish to compare the top of a butterfly or mushroom, the underneath and then the distribution.

  • Awesomeness of this App

I find this app very useful, quick and easy to use. Has a good range of examples, which is on the increase. You can accurately record sighting within a few seconds. You can download and/or backup you records. The app is clear and clear allowing the text and images to be viewed on smaller screens.

Improvements to the app? Silhouettes of birds in flight would be handy and the ability to compare birds would be great.

All in all I love this app. It's helped me no end with bird recognition through the images and the soundtracks.

  • Excellent App

I have had this app for a while and it is my go to reference for birds. I love the useful bird song attachments for each bird. I've used the app fairly successfully with regard to identification of species. What I love most is the recording aspect - can record species, date, location, notes, upload your own photos of the bird, song recordings and then view a list of what you've seen or view on a map - it's fantastic and coupled with my revived enthusiasm for birding and photography I think this app will get a lot more use.

  • Best field guide for me

I am growing in my knowledge of birds, and I have found this app the best of any kind of bird guide available. I used to use a book out & about, a bigger book at home, a set of CDs to get my brain round the songs & calls, and the Internet for photos. Now? All these features are rolled together in this app. I no longer need anything else.

The photos are amazing, and the fact that it tells me which birds are found near my location is the icing on the cake. Really good value. I'd say it was worth £40 or £50, but here we have a bargain!

  • Fantastic app for birders or just interested!

This has good pictures of British birds in, and you can identify and spot them anywhere - so if you find yourself spotting migrant waders in the Arabian peninsular log them and be amazed(I was!) the guides to individual birds are pretty good, and you can usually work out what it was you just saw and log it if you wast! Amazingly I seem to have seen more than 50% of British species since I've had the app (4years) and would never have thought that without that app.!

  • Brilliant app - recommended

I'm only a casual birdwatcher, but I've learnt so much from this app. I love the way you can put in what you know about a bird to narrow down the search using great images, and being able to hear calls. Well worth the money, and better than a book because I always have my iPad mini with me when I'm out walking or cycling. Get it.

  • Bird Talk Excellent

I love being able to listen to the bird call and/or song. Fabulous photos male/female/young. Good information

I heard a Tawny Owl call once. I turned on this app located Tawny Owl selected call and played it at full volume out of window - local owl kept replying. It was magic. Didn't want to upset the owl as not sure if a mating or territory call so stopped after 4 calls. Excellent content and pictures well worth the cash. Easy to use.

Great App for Identifying unseen birds by their call or song. Worth every modest penny spent on it.

Also when I had problem backing up record of sightings via email The App Developer was very helpful advise me how to overcome problem

  • Great app worth the money!

I did initially think this was a bit pricey, but after using the light version for some time, decided to give it a go. The app is a brilliant tool to help identifying birds and always seems to come up with the answer. The ability to log sightings is a big bonus over the light version, and I particularly like the map of records. I can even record sightings outside of Britain which is very handy. Great app, well worth the money!
