Nice

Loads quickly on my 3G, great features. Really good !!

Good, but Not Perfect

Love the HeadsUp display. You can place it on your dash at night and see the reflection in your windshield, and it does not interfere with vision. Only downside is that you cannot cache maps, so while the GPS will work out of cell phone range, you can only identify your longitude and latitude postion. If you have a whole set of maps with you that is OK, but most people do not. I still like TOPO MAPS. A little more expensive, but you can cache maps and know where you are at all times, even out of cell phone range.,

Does exactly what it says on the tin

Good, accurate, stable readings, came in handy during a recent excursion to Snowdonia, thanks!

The best dashboard app in the store

I ride a motorcycle on numerous enduro events and have my iPhone set up to play music and run navigation during the events. My navigation software doesn't give me the data that I needed so I went looking for an app that would work. Seems simple, I wanted an app to give me speed moving time stopped time and it would be really good to be able to set a distance to count back from so that I knew how far I had before refuelling. I found that it was. Of as easy as it looked. I have tried every dashboard app in iTunes and have spent a lot of money and found that while some could do some of what I wanted, none of them met all of my needs.... Until dashometer!! This app is fantastic. The display is very clear and easy to read in a car and on a bike. The settings are easy to follow and the display can show a number of different readings. Finally I found an app that will do what I need as this one you can set a target distance and it will count back from it. Even better it will tell you how long it will take to get to the target distance based on the current speed. The dev is very quick to respond to feedback as well. This app just makes me want get out on my bike to play with the app. 10 stars.

Nice update!

Good to see a developer that updates there apps regularly. Great speedo app, lots of info displayed clearly. Would be nice to possibly have a weather indicator, font options and red as a colour to match my dials. Overall a great app!

Needs landscape support

Good app. Has diverse functionality and a well-placed, no nonsense readout. The tap controls are intuitive and perfect for quickly switching between different measurements. No support for landscape orientation is baffling, however; An update would make the app much more practical for in-car use.

Great app

My Jeep doesn't have a trip meter so I needed a portable odometer to follow trail guides. This app is perfect for this, with some nice features like altitude and compass as well. Also quickly shows your map position. Worth buying if you drive in back country or do road rally!

Dashometer with nifty heads-up display

I noticed Dashometer while browsing the iTunes App store and figured I wouldn't loose much if I didn't like it. Well I like it. On one screen it displays position coordinates, direction in both degrees and cardinal, altitude, speed, and odometer, timer, along with several variations for each display.

If features a nice heads-up display mode (called "Mirror Display" in settings) that allows you to fasten your iPhone to the dashboard near the front window (I recommend you don't just set your expensive iPhone on the dashboard while driving) and see the reflected image. Settings allow changing the display color from white to orange or blue for nighttime driving.

Briefly tapping the coordinate display brings up a menu that allows showing a trip summary, your position on Google Maps, sending your position (and a Google Maps location URL) via email. or copying your position to the clip/paste board.

Dashometer also has the capability to set a distance target or a radius limit that will alert you when you have reached the distance set, or traveled outside the circle defined by the radius limit. It would be nice to have to ability to set any arbitrary coordinate (lat/lon, address, position on a map, etc) to generalize the proximity alarm feature.

Read the whole application description above for more info. (I didn't and had to accidently stumble on how to change data parameters - yeah, I know... RTM).

I tried it, it works, and I like it. My only criticism is the app needs an info screen for first time users who don't read the full application description like me.
