2.0

July 8, 2013

This is a major update with a fresh new user interface. There are now two audits included: 1. The base audit; and 2. The MSP (Mental, Spiritual & Physical) audit. To help you identify the areas of your life which need attention, there are now three graphical representations of where you are focussing your time and effort. These are: 1. Percentage by Category (Base Audit); 2. Balance by Category (Base Audit); and the 3. MSP Bar Chart (for the MSP Audit). Tapping the (i) button on the Graph tab will toggle the chart legends on and off. From the Help tab (4th page) you can now rate the app, email your results or request support. If you need assistance designing your life then also have a look at our associated apps Life Goals and Life Movie.

Description of Life Audit

The first step in getting to where you want is working out where you are. By answering just a few simple questions, Life Audit will produce a graphical representation of your life. It will highlight areas of your life that you are focussing on and more importantly, the areas which need additional attention. The questions are chosen randomly from ten categories, so each time you do an audit you may be asked different questions. Life Audit is a companion product to Life Goals, which is also available in the App Store, and can help you design a more balanced life. Life Goals is designed to complement Life Audit. Here are a couple of reviews of Life Goals. Life Goals was rated 9/10 by Anna Papachristos in her analysis at the iPhone App Review site. In Anna's words: "What is great about Life Goals, as opposed to other goal management applications, is the way it provides its users with a pre-designed set up featuring different categories. Many similar apps make it easy for users to enter their goals and set due dates, but Life Goals helps you break things down into categories that some may even overlook as being an area of their life they could improve upon." Erica Sadun (author of the iPhone Cookbook) also recently reviewed Life Goals and Life Audit on The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW). Erica described the App as follows: "An enhanced to-do app, Life Goals reorganizes a standard reminders approach around focused categories. As you add and accomplish tasks, your Life Chart updates to show you which areas you're excelling in, and which you're neglecting, through an expanded system of graphs and statistics." Erica goes on to say: "A lot of thought has gone into its design, to help users prioritize and review task management. If you like visual and statistical goal feedback, this app has it in bunches."

Reviews of Life Audit

Leave a Review Life Audit
  • Great idea but lacks polish

Great concept but poor pie chart and very little explanation or guidance on how to improve. Has great potential as the extras seem to have made it difficult to read and interpret.
  • What's the point?

This app asks you a series of questions and then provides you with a pie chart divided in to sections, such as "artistic", "attitude". It provides no explanation of what this means or how to use the info. So I feel it's pretty useless.
  • Weak

It only asks one question per life category which yields grossly misleading and therefore useless results. It also changes the questions each time so you can take it twice and come out with different results within minutes. Some of the questions are poorly phrased in light of the response options. If you are looking for a serious tool, this is not it. If you want 2 minutes of mediocre entertainment value, OK.
