Fantastic music composition tool

This app was good on the iPhone, but was just too small for comfort. Now the iPad version has a near full sIze keyboard, and the whole app has been redesigned to take advantage of the larger screen size.

A real pleasure to use, either for jotting done ideas or working out complete compositions. My wish list for future versions: support for triplets, and an easier way to export songs for safe keeping.

Really Super

In the 80's, is kind of functionality would have cost $1000. It's amazing that we have this level of functionality out of portable devices. This is a great addition to the arsenal of iPhone/iPad instruments. The upcoming improvements, both those stated by the developer and those that you can feel are coming (ability to loop groups of patterns?) will make it something special. The patches are very good and the export options outstanding. Good for the developer for trying to get some longer term income out of their hard work with sensible in-app purchases. I will give up a couple of lattes to support this work.

My most useful music app thus far

The more time I spend with iSequence the more I love this app. I feel the user interface design is well thought out and allows me to quickly develop musical ideas on go. With the option to record live, use step input or even record at half tempo it is really easy to put a track together. I also love the ability to export my loops directly to beatmaker or looptastic (via audioview) and play them live. Some of the factory sounds are little thin but plenty of good sounds to work with (with the upcoming sampler this won't be an issue for me). The effects are pretty nice and the ability to record the knob tweaks live or create and adjust automation envelopes with just the drag of a finger is fantastic. The developer has always been quick to respond to my questions and seems to provide excellent updates to his products. According to his website he is planning on adding a sampler with adsr envelopes enabling us to create our own instruments by the end of May. My only other gripe was the solo only keyboard but again the next update is bringing a poly mode. Well done!

beyond a toy, but no tutor needed

I own just about every music app for the iPad. this one is the best by far. this app is very responsive and it looks great as well. i understand looks arent everything, but this app is very "ipad-like". as far as the music production, it is very robust but not too difficult. I figured out the interface in about 10 mins tops.

beepstreet, thanks for the awesome software. I will buy everything you make from now on. I'm a fan.

Super Intuitive Interface

I have bought most all music creation apps, and out of the box this was by far the easiest to jump in and start composing with.
You can purchase more banks, but the sounds with the base app are solid, and I was able to completely compose, arrange, and mix a track within the first hour of use. There's also multiple export formats, and sweet effects.
The ability to import would be nice too though, or copy/paste between other apps, like beat maker and 4 track. I want to add vocals to this track now, but will have to export to some other app in order to do so.
Overall this app is certainly one of the best sequencers I've seen, but will have to continue using some others that support midi import for now.
I hope they make some nice updates, this has the potential to be to my favorite music creation app with a few additions.
Nice work.

Okay but could be a lot better

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with this one. It's good for what it does but it has the potential to be a lot better. The main problem is that you can't import your own samples so you're limited to the built-in sounds or the ones that you can download (for an extra charge). There are a lot of instruments but most of them don't sound that good. Also the interface is confusing: the distinction between a track and a group and an instrument is not at all clear or intuitive. Finally, considering the size of the iPad's screen, it would be nice if the keyboard and drum pads were larger.
