Price History of eyeMath School Edition

Description of eyeMath School Edition

eyeMath School Edition is a colorful, exciting 3-minute drill for kids learning their arithmetic facts. Students move numbers into position to solve more and more challenging equations. For every 10 correct answers, children teleport through snow, planet, forest and space themes to achieve a high score. Problems answered incorrectly reappear later until the child masters them. This app makes arithmetic fun. Kids like the 3-D animations and try to achieve better, higher scores. Parents and teachers see that higher scores require quick, accurate answers. The user experience is so simple, children know intuitively what to do: just tap or move numbers into place. The game is intended for children who know their numbers and have a basic understanding of arithmetic. No other reading skills are needed. On an iPad, precise finger accuracy and coordination are not required; the large numbers and buttons are accessible by kids with physical movement challenges. The music and sound effects in eyeMath are not essential to game play, so both deaf and hearing children can have a fun, learning experience. We are two dads who want our kids to be excited by learning, so please let us know how your student uses eyeMath and what we can do to make the experience even more fun and educational. eyeMath School Edition contains no links, no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no tracking.

Reviews of eyeMath School Edition

  • Fun!

This makes math fun! My son doesn't like math much but loves this game.
  • Promising, but flawed

I had high hopes for this app. I like the fact that it practices addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, at three levels of difficulties. It also gets harder as the player demonstrates math skills.I do not like the fact that it has only multiple choice for answers. Not only that, all answer choices are in sequence. It would be much improved if there were other logical choices ( like 8 as a possible answer for 0 x 8). I am not trying to trip up my kids, but I think it would add to the challenge and help them identify errors in thinking / logic.

So, with only the above issues, I'd probably have given this app 4 stars... But then I heard my kids' reactions. "Mommy! The numbers have eyes! That's creepy!" Both my kids were so creeped out by the eyes on the numbers that they insisted that I delete the app from their iPads. The fact that they were half open eyes seemed to make it worse. Bummer. My daughter (age 6) was also disturbed by some of the environments. My son (age 8) was frustrated by the timer. As an avid video game player, he interpreted it as "losing health and dying". For the record, he gets stressed by being timed at school too.

So, I would be very interested in other editions of this, especially if they allowed for customization, but this one ended up being a bust for my family. I would suggest you let your kids look at the pictures before you pay and download.
  • Math drills

I purchased this app for my 3rd graders to have extra practice with multiplication and division. I like the app to a certain extent. Easy is too easy and hard isn't what I thought. Kids learn their facts up to the 12's but the hard mode does 13. I do not like that. I like the missing factor in hard mode but again I prefer to only go to multiples of 12. I think it would also be better with an easy, medium, hard choice and/or let the child select a specific multiple or a range: 0-5, 6-9, etc. Over all it's an okay app. If it had some changes it would be great!
