  • Great design and calculations, but lacking in other areas

The best thing about this app is that it looks great, lots of calculations, and easy navigation. And the final calculations automatically update when an input is changed.

However, the buttons (numbers/symbols) are way too small. There is a lot of wasted space (amongst other things a big sportys logo at the top). They could definitely fix this. It is especially apparent in the calculator- micro buttons compared to iPhone calculator.

This is such a small issue, and i know that sportys has the resources to fix it. However, it doesn't seem like they are updating this app with new features. Not cool at all for a $10 app. No updates is why I give this 3 stars. A lot of other reviewers have important ideas and fixes as well that should be addressed. This app might just be dead(no real updates)

  • works for aussie pilots

In the past this did not have configurable units, now it does. I use it all the time it's great. Much faster to calculate heading/drift/gs than the old Jeppenson CR-3.
  • Great…but needs time math

I have the Sporty's electronic E6B in addition to the IPAD version. The one feature I really miss is the ability to do time math in HH:MM:SS format. There is a calculator provided in the IPAD app (which might benefit from bigger buttons), and maybe a ":" key could be added there (with the associated logic to handle it).

This feature is the one thing that keeps me carrying my electronic E6B in my flight bag (as opposed to just using the IPAD version).

I realize, of course, that converting HH:MM:SS to decimal time isn't rocket science, it is just a very handy time saver!

  • Sporty

I was critical of this app when it first appeared because it was geared for the US market with settings in gallons rather than litres; pressure in inches rather than millibars.

But, the developers have made many improvements including those listed above and it is now an excellent application.

It is easy to use for flight planning and good value for money.

  • Good but could be better

Very Good App, however some simple changes could significantly improve the IPad version

On the Ipad version, please can we have bigger number buttons and bigger numbers on the display, using it as a kneeboard, its not easy to see. Secondly there seems to be a bug where you cannot type in numbers when it sits in a keyboard dock, this is also often where it is used when flight planning.

  • Hardly worth the time, let alone the cash

Too many things simply don't work properly on this app. Save your money...
  • Good app

This is a good app but the fuel conversions are based on US gallons and pounds. Please include some more international conversions in the next update and also allow the specific gravity of jet fuel to be included in the conversions.A holding pattern entry calculator would also be useful plus a snowtam decoder.

  • It's a start

Good start and nice interface, easy to use. Greatly let down by lack of metric in calculation such as millibars and hpa. Also the carry over of results in calculations and conversions would be fantastic. Eg, entering gallons figure in the gallons to pounds conversion also entrees the gallons into the gallons to kg, or litres conversion, and the litres figure is also copied to conversions requiring litre figure input.

  • Readability!!!

I generally like the app on my iPhone 3GS. However, I find the text very small and nearly unreadable. A lot of real estate is used for the Sporty's logo that could be much better used for larger text. Also, the navigation is clunky - too many functions to scroll through to find a specific computation.

  • Sportys e6b

Pretty good but of limited use for most of the planet as no millibars or hPa. A huge omission.
