  • Great tool to have on smart phone

I appreciate this evidence-based app for helping me to understand the time of divergence of two taxa. For instance, I just found out today that anteaters and aardvarks likely split evolutionarily about 100 million years ago! Not everyone wonders about this, but for those who do, this app is a great reference.
  • Needs update for iPhone X

It’s great, but would be nice if the layout worked for “new” phones.
  • Great educational tool

While the app is somewhat prone to crashing on occasion, it’s a great educational tool for showing how close or distant two organism’s common ancestor is. Despite not being a teacher or officially a biology major myself (yet), I’ve been able to use this app to teach friends about relations between organisms.

Why can’t I check on the diff between ‘dogs and cats’, or humans and chimpanzees’?
  • Crashes instantly

This app used to be great! I used it on an old iPad 2. I just attempted to use it on the iPad Pro 9" and it cannot even open: just crashes instantly. Please fix it so I can use it with teaching my life science classes...
  • cool app!!

using this app has been helpful.
  • Crashes, have to reinstall!

    Please fix!
If I misspell one of search terms then app shuts down. Will not refresh & must delete & reinstall.
Very lovely on the net! Please fix this glitch in the app!
Have iPhone 6+, with all updates.
  • Crashes when I try to see the evolutionary relationship between Taxon A and Taxon B

I recently went of science daily to learn about the new TimeTree of Life Initiative, and I found your app related to this. Unfortunately, whenever I try and see the evolutionary relationship between any two species, the app attempts to calculate and then freezes. Don't get me wrong, I think the app is a great idea, but it needs work
  • Love it!

I have been using it to imagine the different geologic eras. Lots of fun. Just be aware that the word "trout" seems to crash it. Other salmonidae work though.
  • Of practical value to understand evolutionary relationships

Excellent source of information regarding taxonomic relationships and last-common ancestor (LCA). Useful for preparing lectures when I want to check on age of various species of birds, dinosaurs, etc. The online linkages to taxonomics at NCBI is very helpful.
Fun to check on LCA of different birds when out in the field, though some of the ages of LCA seemed surprising to me.
I hope that they will also provide a version that is designed for display on iPad2.
Would be helpful if they also listed the organism they suggest as the LCA.
    Price is unbeatable (free!).
