Best Chime Clock App

I normally don't write reviews, but this app is so good I was compelled. It has great clock face design. The detail on the tick-tock and chimes is outstanding. The hourly strike could have a slight reduction in the high frequency, a little tinny.
I love this clock.

Little Ben is a beautiful clock app

Good app little Ben happy it was updated better chime an tick sound I enjoy it always thanks john

Needs some chime adjustments

The chime is out of tune and does not sound very realistic.. If you can just make them sound like classic grandfather clock bells Then It would be perfect.

Avid clock collector

It's hard to tell what the West Minster chimes sound like cause, even though there's an icon to turn on quarterly chimes, they won't activate. The ticking sounds more like the balance wheel from an old alarm clock rather than the metal tick of a real pendulum operated grand-father clock. The app is very unstructured. It's difficult to tell what you're turning on and off and impossible to set the start and end times for the chimes. Some people will do anything to rip people off.

Great App

This is a nice little app that does just what it says it will. I would have said it was "outstanding" and given it 5 stars if it had an option to chime the quarter-hours while it ran in the background.

Just ok

I wish you could keep the chimes running even when the clock is not being displayed or when you close your cover. Although it has a more simulated sound than an actual clock, I like the sound for my IPad. If I wanted an authentic sounding grandfather clock, I would have bought an antique.

Snare drum

The clock sounds like someone banging on a snare drum (rimshot). The chimes sound very electronic. The clock movement is very digital, needs a sinusoidal motion. The clock face is ugly. I was very disappointed! Programmers need a physics person to help with the motion. Concept is great though.

Needs variations/more options

This app is very nice but needs ability to change to other face designs, option to only chime on the hour, and option to set 'night' hours so chimes are silent at night. Love the soothing sound of the chimes!

"Little Ben" runs more hours on my iPad than any other app.

When my iPad is stitting in it's dock charging, it has "Little Ben" running. I find the Westminster Chimes very comforing and reminds me of the grandfather's clock in my childhood hone. It took me a while to figure out that clicking on the two small gears opened the perferances and let me turn off the pendlium clicking and adjust the chines and hourly stikes. I would have liked "skins" to change the graphics so it looked more like Big Ben or a traditional grandfather's clock. I have had some push notifcation kick Little Ben out of the foreground, but that's a minor problem -- just launch it again. I'm sure it will be fixed with iOS4.

Quite cool but...

The hands move convincingly but, maybe it is because I am a technical person, the pendulum motion is completely wrong. Obviously it can't be the right length, but at least make it a sinusoidal motion so it -looks- like a pendulum. Constant angular motion is so un-natural I can't watch it for long...
