  • Perspective building

As an American reader I value this monthly as an outside viewpoint and information source for stories not well covered by domestic media. The presentation format is poor, essentially a photo of each page. But I’m rating on content rather than form.
  • Global analysis on a monthly basis

The Monde Diplomatic international analysis and guest writers provide a unique and nuanced way to look at the world problems from a point of view outside the regular European chambers.
  • a bug

I love reading my diplo on the iPad, however in the recent January '13 edition the second page in illegible. The bug has caused the entire page to blur!
  • Al Jazeera is better ... And free!

For those of you that have no idea how hard is to get money, in a legal way, just look at the title. The money is supposed to be in advertaising.
  • A Classic

Excellent opinion paper. App needs ability to share the articles and also save them through Instapaper.
  • Horrible format

You really need to spend some money to prepare the magazine for the digital age. This is just a PDF of the magazine. Look at the New Yorker, The Economist, or WSJ (amongst others) to see how it should be done. It is a pity that such great content is presented in such awful format.
  • Insulting

This ap which is purportedly free is useless without a paid subscription. It happens that I do get the paper version and I have great regard for it. But this. C'est horible. Mon dieu.
  • Great publication

First let me address the complaints that while the app is free most of the content is not. I knew that when I downloaded the app - it certainly says so. Why people always give a one star rating because, god forbid, content is not free is beyond me. This is not an inexpensive print publication so why does anyone expect it to be free.

On to the content: the LMD is one of the premier publications in the world. The articles are in depth and provide intelligent discussion and evaluation of many world issues and the political/economic situation in different countries and regions. Some people may not like it for its political leanings. However, if you are a serious student of world affairs, this is a must read.

  • Bait and switch

You can't see crap unless you buy the paid edition.

Thanks for wasting my time douche bags!
  • Reader is Free; Content Costs

You get a few sample articles, but if you want more, you pay a nominal fee for 30-days access AND access to the archive.

Yes, if you zoom in too far the text gets blurry. Not a problem for me, but if someone needed large text, it would be better if the text were sharp.
