  • Missing information

When reading the history of each carrier scrolling down can never reach the end of the information, stops and I cannot complete reading the history. Very frustrating to get so close and not see how the ship finished its career or was lost in battle.
    Please fix this bug!
  • App Crash

Selecting sub-menu "USS Langley CV-1" from main menu USS Langley CV-1 causes app to crash - I don't think this sub menu is meant to be there. Plenty of info here for naval buffs and app is recommended.
  • One of the good one

Very good, text data format could us improvement, other wise is one off the best available.
  • Our aircraft carriers

Nice app; I liked it. The histories of our USN ships was, I feel, done quite well and except for the lack of color in pictues of years long past, what's not to like about the pictures?

One problem I saw is that there is a whole class of carriers (many ships) that are missing - the CVE's, also know as the Jeep Carriers that performed so admirably in WWII. I emailed the developer and the response was that the CVE's would "... probably be available within a month" (the second week of May 2012) - I can't wait!

  • carriers

nice app, except there is a picture of the USS Forrestal in with the USS Saratoga. In the USS Saratoga category that shows an aerial view of the Saratoga in Cannes, France with the Daniels, that is the USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). in the email section it would be nice to have the picture as a background instead of an attachment.

  • text poor on the Touch

This may be fine for the iPad but the text part does not work at all well on the iPod Touch.
  • Getting There...

Like their Battleships app, this app is a great idea that is poorly executed. There are numerous spelling errors, wrong pictures and many buttons are mislabeled. For example, under USS Essex, one of the pictures is of the Enterprise CV6. Lexington CV16's history button is labeled USS Monterey. There are literally dozens of errors like these, including run-ons in the menu, like USS EnterpriseCVN-65 (should be a space between "Enterprise" and "CVN-65"). Both this app and the Battleships app need extensive proofreading and should not rely on some automated system they may be using to pull data. Great "fun" potential, but sloppiness ruins it.

Update: I actually DOWNGRADED my review to ONE star. Of all the typos, mislabeled buttons and mistakes in this, they fix a grand total of 1 thing (ONE!?) in the new version - and its not actually fixed! The Saratoga still has the Ranger's history! "Wow" is all I can say and that's not in a good way. Easily a five star app reduced to a one star disappointment, all because of not even applying simple proofreading skills. If I were the developers, I would be embarrassed.

I will gladly update this review towards the positive (I don't like giving 1 star to apps) if the developer shows even the least bit of interest and pride in their own app. And the Battleship app could undergo a spell check too while you are at it.

Update 2: Things are a little better, but more work needs to be done. For example:

Saratoga CV60 still has Ranger CV61's history.
    Harry S Truman is CVN75, not CVN73
One of the Essex'x CV9 pictures is of Enterprise CV6 (Builders Trial)

  • Poor Attention to Detail

This is a fun App, but there are some big errors, e.g. What is a 'probram'? I was blessed with the opportunity to fly from three of these amazing ships.

The history of the Kitty Hawk and Lincoln that I experienced is put together very well and vividly. Unfortunately along the way the Saratoga morphs into the Ranger?

The Great Americans that served and still serve on these ships are the model of attention to detail, the App they inspire should be equally so.

The photos are excellent and the interface well done, but for now I recommend keeping your $2 until the next version hits the street.
