Great dock, big sound, good app

I was hesitant on buying the XtremeMac 3 in 1 dock after reading reviews, but decided to buy - as I was looking for a good travel dock/clock as well.

This is a very good buy. The dock is nice quality. The sound is big for such a small unit. The button is good, not problematic as some people have mentioned. It is made with a rubber material, so it is easily depressed, as opposed to a hard plastic. You also have large buttons displayed on the iPhone if you don't want to use the button). The power plug is not "huge" as some people claim - the size is standard for power units). Also came with multiple power outlet connectors for various countries, which was a pleasant surprise (I travel throughout Asia and US, big bonus from XtremeMac). The iPhone 4 docks with no issue.

The clock app is simple and functional. As long as you leave the app running (as is clearly stated multiple times), you will have no issue. However, note that you can only set 2 alarm times.

Feel comfortable with this purchase, as it is a solid product for the specs.

Excellent

Brill alarm clock. Good bedtime clock with night mode. It's free but would pay 25p if pushed.

Design needs to be looked at

I bought this dock so i could listen to my ricky gervais podcasts as i fall asleep (as i do everynight) only to find you cant use the ipod app and the alarm clock app at the same time. looks like i bought a glorifed phone charger. PLEASE change this in the next update of the app. for now, im sticking with the good ol apple alarm clock and falling asleep to the ramblings of a mad man

Needs some work! But pretty good.

The lack of the feature to sleep to my iPod will be resulting in the return of my newly purchased Xtrememac Microdock alarm clock.

I do like the fact that the alarm time is displayed on the screen and when you hit snooze, it says "snoozing" on the front display so you know for sure it is in snooze and will go aff again.

Without the sleep to ipod feature, I cannot use it. The lack of this feature is also resulting in lost revenue for Xtrememac becasue I am returning my alarm clock. This app was made to go with my clock and without the iPod sleep feature, there is no point to the app or the clock for me. Too bad. Big mistake in the app.

Not useful for white noise AND alarm

I bought the Xtrememac 3 in 1 microdock in order to use it as a white noisemaker plus alarm. However, there are only 2 background noises available through the Xtrememac app, and both are not really "white" noise. One is called rain, but there are birds calling irregularly in the background, and the other is waves. In waves, there are periods of silence where the waves are receding, and outside noise will be disruptive during the silences.
Then I thought I could just get a constant bland background sound as an mp3 and listen to it through iTunes while leaving the alarm function on. You must leave the alarm app launched & up on your iPhone to have the alarm go off. However, as soon as you launch the alarm app, it turns off your iTunes music. So there is no way to have my iPhone work simultaneously as an alarm and play acceptable background white noise. This product and app do not work for what I want, and I will be getting rid of both.
Also, I thought I would use this for travel. The adapter on the charger for the 3 in 1 microdock is HUGE, though. It will be much less space and weight to just continue to take the AA battery-powered white noisemaker and a separate alarm clock that I already own.

Good at first, then ridiculous

Should have read the "Needs Some Work" review. The app works well until you turn off the app, or breathe on it, perhaps. I have an Ipod touch 3g (not the current one w/ camera), and it does the same thing- initially it's fine, but loses most functionality, does not display the clock, nor any useful on-screen info. The "Done" button on the alarm set page goes away, and a "sync" button replaces the days of the week display. It will not return to the background page. You cannot choose songs from the ipod to listen to for an alarm. A glitch of monumental proportions- after i called Xtrememac support, they first had to figure out what I was talking about, i had to insist they had sent an email to call them, and, after consulting a manager, they decided the only way to fix this is NEVER TURN OFF THE APP. Right. So, any time I want to use a different app, I then have to sync the touch, remove the app, reinstall the app, and reset all alarms and wake-to songs. If I weren't planning an Iphone 4 purchase this clock would be sent back immediately. I would rather just wake to an alarm, frankly, than deal with that. The clock itself is a nice piece, though..... four stars if they fix the functionality of this app, maybe five.

Can't complain about

It's simple and free and does exactly what it should, I can not fault it. Thanks developer keep the good stuff coming

Brilliant!

A Brilliant application, especially when paired with the XtremeMac Docking Station. Clear and easy to read display without clutter and nonsense like other apps have. Easy to configure and a real pleasure to use!

Awsome

I thought that the app was incredible since while I am away from home, I can just forget my Luna sst and use the clock as my personal alarm.
5/5

Good App... a few suggestions...

I bought the XtremeMac hardware, downloaded the app, configured the settings and started using it for my alarm this week.

About the device (since the app and the device are meant to work together):
It's light, small and easily packed and carried, great job!!!
However, here are suggestions for the next model:
1. Button bar looks sleek and nice but the snooze button can't be found when you are half awake and without glasses in the early morning darkness feeling around to set the snooze. By the time I found it I had turned up the volume and was awake.
2. To be truly useful as a travel iPod/iPhone device it is missing a few essentials. It needs a USP port to allow sync to computer, also needs earphone/headphones ability.

About the software:
1. When choosing songs for the alarm options I could not find a way to delete a song that I accidentally clicked on and now want to remove. It appears that you must delete the alarm settings and start over.
2. I need more than 2 alarm to set. I'm sure that many others would appreciate additional alarms to set also.
3. Radio option would be nice.

I could give the app more stars if both the hardware and the app had these additional features available. I gave it 3 because it has potential.

Great start. I’ll be looking forward to updates. Thanks.
