  • Year Calendar

Great app does what is says. It fills in the missing piece in your calendar needs. Well done.
  • Changing terms is borderline fraudulous

This app as purchased prior as a one shot purchase before this monthly fee was established. Changing the conditions is borderline fraudulous. I understand for new buyers, but previous sales should be honored. Very disappointed with the very little respect this company treats its first adopters.

Hi A face in the crowd, you can always keep using the version you paid for. The one-time paid versions do not require a subscription.
  • Already paid and now you want a subscription on top of that?

I’ve already paid for the app, and now you want a subscription on top of that? What a rip-off. Not happy.
  • Used for years now demands expensive subscription to view my data !

Was a nice little app, which I used a few times a year.
Needed to check some entries I had and I can no longer view them unless I pay an extortionate subscription fee.

Had no warnings this was going to happen. Will look elsewhere rather than be forced to use a feature I already had. Good luck to the money grabbing developers.

Hi GavMk, the market has changed so much since the inception of the Year Calendar iPad app 10 years ago, that now we have to make a transition to subscription like many other developers to keep supporting the app. We changed to the subscription model on June 19 with the release of version 4.0, and gave all existing users until September 1st to enroll. We left notices about this in the in-app release notes for Version 4.0 and Version 4.1. Lastly all existing users are still given the one-month free trial, in case you missed the notices. Versions 4.0 and 4.1 are loaded with new features, and also have important bug fixes such as fixing crashes on iOS 14.
  • Shady business practice

Changed from paid app to subscription only without warning, no access to previously entered data without active subscription. Functionality little changed. Only recourse is 1 star rating.

  • After years of using this, you want us to subscribe?

Just shaking my head. Bought this years ago and love it. I would understand if this new subscription plan was for new users only, but for us Golden Oldies who already paid for the app? Will have to go elsewhere. Disappointed.

  • Over priced subscription when already paid for app

    Update to review:

I paid for this app and pay the yearly subscription for the phone app but now I am being made to pay a monthly subscription for the iPad app as well. So disappointed I am changing my review to one star.

I love this app. It is extremely useful for seeing and planning in advance. There are many helpful features. Very well thought out app.

Hi Sesiwi, the iPad Year Calendar had a very low one-time fee for years, but the market has changed so much since the inception of the Year Calendar iPad app 10 years ago, that now we have to make a transition to subscription like many other developers to keep supporting the app. The iPhone and iPad are two separate apps, each requiring their own subscription. We could combine them and charge a larger sum to have a single subscription including both devices like most of other apps. But some people only use iPhone and some only iPad, and we thought users can pay as they need.
  • Complaint with subscription plan

I purchased your app a long time ago, however I didn’t purchase a subscription plan, I will not be using your product anymore and will convert to Fantastical which is much more robust and a one time purchase as your product was when I originally purchased it.
  • This was a great app

I’ve used this app for several years because it provides an easy to read summary view of events over a calendar year, and I’ve referenced it many times. Now I cannot access it unless I sign up for a very expensive annual subscription, so I have lost all my data unless I am willing to repeatedly pay the ransom demands. This is very disappointing. It’s a nice app but it isn’t worth £10 a year.

  • Having to move to a subscription makes it worthless!

I love this Calendar, but I’m not going to pay a monthly subscription! That’s crap! It doesn’t do enough! So sad to have to change after years, so much for loyalty!
