Abuse of notifications brings the score down

Update: The developers response to this review completely misses the point. The fact is you can’t stop this app sending you notifications such as ‘watch the highlights…’ or matches you have expressed no interest in, from leaguers you do not follow. There are other examples and the developers just don’t care or understand.

Original review: There is no control over some of the spam notifications the app forces on you. You have to choose between accepting spam, such as news alerts and matches you’ve expressed no interest in being available to watch, or turning notifications off and rendering the app useless. I’ll stick with it and hope it improves, but can see myself ditching what is otherwise a great app if more control isn’t offered very soon.

Keeps me up to date

Honestly I don’t really write reviews but this app has everything and is a must-have if you’re a fan of world football. It’s easy to follow my favorite club(s) and national team as well. They have news, matches, you name it. Honestly this app is amazing and I’m surprised that they don’t do more paid advertising or grow it even further. Absolutely love this app as a Real Madrid supporter.

Very good app for football news and games, but oh my word the player ratings are atrocious. It’s genuinely as if they didn’t watch the game at all and pick random players to give high ratings to. Every time I look at them it just annoys me, please fix it

Fewer Ads Please

Overall the app is fantastic and has so many features that make it a worthwhile add for soccer fans. However the ads that are in the app make it almost unusable at times, from forcing open another browser without your permission, to hiding ads within text in the various articles it’s almost absurd. I can usually use the app for 10 minutes maximum before the sheer amount of ads and forced exits crashes the app for me. It feels as though this has only gotten worse with time. While I understand the need for ads to receive monetization it should not come at the cost of the app as a whole. If it continues to get worse I will probably end up uninstalling just to save battery life at that point. It’s a shame because as I stated earlier, when it works it really is a fantastic app.

Changes made to Matches Tab

Very confused by the updated design on viewing matches. I should now individually select each date to check when the next game for the team I follow might be on. This is unintuitive! We could previously follow all games happening within the league of your followed team and even additional leagues. The option to check your teams matches can always be found from your profile if you wanted. I don’t know how this update was approved past the design stage.

Thank you for taking this review into consideration. I am of the belief that the developers are tweaking this change for the best experience of all users and I am one of many. Looking forward to changes down the line.

This is definitely the best of many apps I have got for football news and stats. Great notifications keeping me up to date l, and you can even preference your favourite players, teams and leagues. Definitely an amazing app+ its free

Good app but ads are so irritating

The OneFootball app is amazing. It’s free and I love how easy it is to use the app. Yet I am consistently having a advertisement video pop up in full screen, which is extremely annoying. It wouldn’t be bad if it was just there on the page, yet i am forced to watch an annoying video every 10 or so seconds.

Please fix this!!!!!

Was great

Liked this app for a long time, was easy to navigate and had decent writing for a free app. However, advertisements can be opened merely by swiping over them when navigating the app, which can be very irritating as they usually redirect to the App Store, which can be very annoying. And after having it for years and going to reinstall it, I now have to sign up for a simple football news & score app? Better off using FotMob at this point, but it’s a shame to see this app hyper-advertised and tweaked to the point it’s no longer the simple football app it once was.

A great app sadly ruined

It only gets better with time!!

I really love using this app! There are some small stuff that I liked, which is the fact that they put the opening and closing tournament into one for Peru. I’m hoping they can do it for the rest of the leagues in the Americas. I also love how they keep adding more leagues and other preseason tournaments that aren’t even official. It makes it so much easier to follow than going on a social media app or the web and being bombarded with irrelevant posts and ads. It’s all set up in a simple and organized way. They even broadcast some lower division matches. A small review is not enough to appreciate these developers for creating an application for us football fanatics. Thanks for taking time out of your personal life to help maintain this S tier application! Also, cheers to all the people that put in time in the Live Ticker! 🍻🥃

Nonsense notifications

The good thing about this app was that you choose what you want to be notified about and get updates solely based on that. Now they’ve decided to also push out notifications for things I have no interest in..

I’ll be looking for another app if this continues..

My last review was removed.. which makes me think they’ll continue this clickbaity behaviour..

Update After getting alerts yet again for teams I don’t follow even though I have news alerts turned off I’m now switching to a rival app..

This app is getting worse: I used to pay an annual subscription to remove ads. I stopped this when they changed to monthly as I don’t want monthly amounts no matter how small leaving my account. Therefore you lost a subscriber.

Then the bugs started. - like many I stream games to watch them (now tv / bt sports etc) this means there’s a minutes delay on what I’m watching.

So when I untick alerts for a game in OneFootball I don’t want them turning themselves back on repeatedly ruining the game I’ve decided to watch at the last minute.

Then there are the ridiculous amount of partners you want to share my data with and how you want to track me. Then last night at nearly midnight you send an alert for the Classico a game I don’t care about in any way. I don’t want to watch the highlights, I don’t want to be bothered by an alert I haven’t switched on and I’ve gone from a paid subscriber to deleting the app.
