Unusable app
The old app was excellent, but after trying to persevere with this new app, I give up. It’s practically unusable and easily the worst news app experience I’ve ever had. I’ve now subscribed to Herald Premium and it’s so nice to have a properly functioning news app again. Stuff, you’ve sabotaged your own offering, and to what end? Edit: I tried Stuff again, but see the November 2024 update now forces me to sign in to read anything. In the age of user-pays I’d actually be okay with this (and with paying to subscribe) if the app was usable, but it’s still as bad as it was. A fun new bug is that swiping sideways to get to the next article only works half the time. Yet swiping with almost no pressure on a real estate carousel ad makes the whole article change to a new page. The Herald Premium app functions brilliantly, there’s no excuse for Stuff to be so clunky.
