The best game ever

Hands down, this is the most polished, addictive, funny, sentimental and down right enjoyable game on the app store.

A fantastic mario-esque platforming mechanic, a 'got to get them all' set of collectables, a captivating pixel art set of graphics and a superb soundtrack. What's not to like?

This is the must have game of 2010!

Beautiful and addictive

Everything about this game just shines. The gameplay, the music, the 8-bit arti direction and concept, the animations - it all adds up to a great gaming experience, at a very reasonable price.

Amazing game

By far the best quick play game idea in the app store- the graphics are full of character, the sound is perfect, but the gameplay is it's strongest feature. A simple idea beautifully realised. Best game I've played in a long time on any format. It just proves that you don't need to throw 3d graphics and flashy effects into a game when you have an idea as good as this. Easily 5 stars.

fast paced indeed

I just died half way through the 2nd level and I can already tell this is going to be a super addicting fun game! At a first glance you think "hey this is pretty easy" but then you realize when trying to get coins and power-ups that little white bar can be oh so elusive. Things heat up pretty quickly and it really does get pretty tricky maneuvering through a bunch of oddly-shaped junk! The 8-bit retro vibe (including the music!) was executed flawlessly. Even though it's $1.99 I think it's worth it - since it's a universal binary you get it for iPad and iPhone too. Nice!

Pixel Perfect Gameplay

This beautiful 8-bit pixel perfect game is so retro, you'll be looking for a Nintendo cartridge to blow into. Gameplay controls are simple and responsive, and the chiptune soundtrack will take you back to the days of Super Mario Brothers. Losing a life has never been more enjoyable, with trophies like Death by Garden Gnome. It's the only way to go out in style.

This is quickly going to become one of the most addictive games on the iPhone and iPad. Hands down, awesome gameplay.

Great art, fun gameplay

Very, very cool looking game if you appreciate old-school style 8-bit graphics. If you grew up in the era of 80's gaming, you'll love the look. The gameplay itself is a lot of fun, and is very "pick up and play" for a few minutes anytime. Exactly the kind of gameplay that I find perfect on an iPhone. Great when killing time at the carwash, Dr. office, etc.

Extra kudos to the developer for making the app a plus app so it runs natively on the iPad as well as the iPhone. With more and more devs making you pay twice, and a premium for iPad, it's refreshing. At $1.99, it's a no brainer.

A Nostalgic Masterpiece.

Takes me back to the old commodore days. After a little play with the sensitivity setting, this game is both fun and challenging definitely worth the mere pennies that it's sold at. Props to the graphic designer for all the different air-bourne threats that are available. It keeps the game varied and exciting.
