  • Still an amazing player!

This app is a solid player for just about any format you can throw at it, and a steal at the price!

New to this version are a much improved UI and support for MIDI. While the MIDI playback isn't astounding, considering it lets this play practically every other format of game music out there it's a great addition! And I really like the new visualization for MIDI playback.

I only have a few gripes with this version. First, when playing SPC files on infinite loop, the first few seconds play and fade out, then the song starts again and plays normally. Second, again with SPCs, there seems to be a lot fewer options for playback quality; I much prefer cubic interpolation to the gaussian method that sounds like I have cotton in my ears. Third, infinite playback doesn't work seamlessly with MIDIs, but that is a pretty small issue. And finally, the size seems a bit excessive; over three times the size of the old one?

  • Brought tears to my eyes

I was looking for an app like this, a must have for any chip tune lover. (was looking for something to replace the milky tracker as my primary player)

    Awesome job!
  • Promising, but with bugs

Plays a vast range of file formats. Excellent value. But you can't see a list of tracks in a multi-part file (eg a Game Boy .gbs), and the skip-ahead buttons go to a whole other file if you press them too quickly. Need to be able to rename downloaded files too. With these issues sorted, it'd be perfect. Has a lot of potential though.

  • If I could give this more stars I would!!!

I've bought every C64, Atari and Amiga music player and this is by far the best. Playlist,s web browsing and downloading, FTP access!!! All the other developers have been slow to develop! This is the first player to allow you to export your downloads! Very important if you have to restore your device. Many thanks to the developers for a great app!

  • Best of the bunch!

I was a big fan of a different mod-player app until now. Modizer has it all. It's the easiest to use, the most feature-filled and it lets me easily delete songs I don't like. I'm using it on my iPhone and iPad to listen to mods and sid songs, and I have no complaints.
  • Incredibly feature rich for the price.

I downloaded this app shortly after it was released and was blown away by the features and breadth of supported formats, despite some bugs in the 1.0. I contacted the author and was happy to see my questions answered quickly.

As of the 1.1, the database now has even more files than before from some of the most popular formats.

I do have some small complaints like the laggy world charts, but it is new as of 1.1 and will inevitably be reworked. It is not enough to detract from the basic usability however.

For a multiformat mod and game music player, it's unbeatable at a dollar.

  • Solid, but UI needs a lot of work

Selecting a mod for download takes you to a website unoptimized for the iPhone, with the download link buried somewhere in the webpage. Not exactly user friendly. Especially actually downloading the mod involves having to hunt around the webpage for the link.

Other than this, the app plays mods well.

  • Amazing MOD/chiptune player!

I can't believe someone finally wrote an app like this. Thank you!

I also can't believe it's only $0.99. I think we're ripping you off. It's probably unusual to say this in a review, but you could definitely charge a buck or two more. Obviously, a lot of work was put into this -- and it's the only app of its kind. I think everyone who's enjoying this app now would have happily paid more for it.

The UI could use a bit of polish, but it's perfectly functional. Great work.

  • Awesome

Brings back all of the memories from my misspent youth with C64, Atari800 and Amiga. Plays all formats in a single app! Integrates perfectly with the iPod controls and running as a background task.
  • Great app nice features

Great app to play music which was great and shared openly before everything became commercialized mp3s. Nice features lets you pull down songs from the web or by adding them in iTunes, good multitasking both within the app and allowing it play in the background while using other apps. One improvement idea - it would be nice if you could select 'play all' from a directory by 'Artist' without having to navigate by type to the song itself. I'll have to look for a workaround using playlists maybe an alternative exists, otherwise awesome app, thanks for making this available on the iphone.
