Good but can be better
Rate it 4-star because developer stated it only wakes machine hook up by wire not on WiFi network and if it supports wake-up by WiFi I would rate it 5.
However, I managed to make it work by WiFi using my iPad/iPhone since this is really what I need that to control my iMac while watching TV downstairs.
Strangely, I noticed if I keep the Splashtop remote server (I use it to remote control my iMac) dialogue box open, i.e. open it's preference and KEEP the dialogue box open not close it then I can use Wake-it to wake up my iMac via WiFi even though it is not wired to my router!
This is a real bonus as I can keep my iMac shut(sleep I shall say) most of the time but when I want to tune into my Apple TV I can easily access my entire library without having to leave my sofa!
Enough been said, Apple shall really look into the great functionality Snow Leopard supported, Wake-on-demend, make it compatible with Apple TV and indeed iOS the like.
Hope this helps those of whom lazy like me... Enjoy!Show lessDoesnt work
Didnt work for me. If it costs $ and says 'automatically connects' it should do that. Also what is the use of having something for the iPad that doesn't connect via wifi? Did I miss something?Good App, responsive Developer
This 99 cent app is very worthwhile, especially when coupled with Teamviewer or a similar remote access program, allowing full control of a pc via an iPhone or iPad when traveling. The app absolutely works, although many users may, like me, have to muddle through establishing Wake on Lan (WoL) on their network interface card and their router and BIOS. Once these things are all set and the PC has a static IP address within the LAN, the app works very well. I can now turn my PC off when I go on a trip, turn it on with my iPhone and/or iPad, access files and peripherals, i.e. external HDD, and then shut it down when I am finished. For a non-technical person like me, this is a big step! Equipment includes a Linksys E3000 router, PC running Windows 7 64-bit and iPhone & iPad.Show lessGreat App
Looking for a simple, straight forward way to wake a PC over my LAN. This app works exactly as advertised. However, more important to me is the support from the developer. I had questions about setting up the app to work while away from home over 3G ... The developer helped every step of the way. Dave ... You're one of the good ones! Keep up the great work and thank you!Show lessGreat App
Easy to setup and works great.Be wary
Downloaded the app, set it up. Doesn't work. Went to the website for troubleshooting support, only then did I discover that in order to get this app to work properly I have to do a substantial change to my home network setup that wasn't mentioned in the app's description above. I *could* do it, yes, and then the app would probably work, but it would be a major pain and it would have been nice to have been told what my system required *before* I bought the app. Congratulations on getting my dollar.Show lessGood!
Simple program, no frills. Works as advertised perfectly.Works as advertised
What can I say? It wakes up my computers. Of course, you need to actually KNOW how Wake on Lan works and configure your computer/app properly for it to work. Also, if you intend on making Wake on Lan work over cellular, make sure you configure your router properly for it. I can't stress enough that you need to understand technology to be able to use it.Show lessHasnt worked yet
Bad very bad.....you should test it and rate it down...but hey this app could get betterDon't Waste Your Money
Wasn't able to wake up my computer over the wireless network or the cellular network. After I bought this app I found a free one that worked right off the bat.
