Happy that someone made an HIT / BBS app
If you’re a fan of the sort of high intensity training espoused in Body By Science, or the Arthur Jones and Mike Mentzer style workouts, this is the app for you. I can’t find another app like it on the app store. It first gives you 4 seconds to get into position and then it beeps to start. Then it beeps every 10 seconds, allowing you to gauge your time under tension without an expensive personal trainer standing in front of you with a stop watch. It would be hard for me to do this kind of training without this app.

Useful but needs work
This is the only HIT specific app I can find, so I will keep using it. However, needs more work. I’d like to see instructions or links to help pages. I’d like settings so I can configure the time before starting (takes me more than 4secs), and time between beeps. Some information on what units are used in the performance chart and how this is calculated would be useful too.

App is buggy
I was hoping to use the app to track my work in the Body by Science protocol, but I have found the app too buggy to use, and am switching to pen and paper. Specifically, when I go back to check a previous workout, only 4 of the 5 exercises were showing up, there was no way to go in an edit a workout (in case something was mis-entered), and it was unclear how the data was being stored and analyzed.

First day using it, took me a bit to figure out
For workouts similar to those recommended in the book Body By Science. If it does what it says it does, then it's all I am looking for for now. Took me some playing with to figure out how to make use of it; at first I thought it didn't work.
Great app if your starting a true HIT regimen
Started HIT after reading "Body by Science". Quickly realized accurate record keeping was essential. This app achieves this beautifully with line graphs that illustrate your progress in joules output.
What I didn't like was the inability to go back into the notes of previous workouts to add additional notes.
Otherwise a must have for a true HIT hard gainer. I'm sure the next version or upgrade will nail this small glitch.
Cheers.

Awesome
With headphones on, the beep every ten seconds is perfect for setting my cadence. Great app for ditching the timer and clipboard.
Glad it exists!
I'm glad to see an app exists for HIT training. The timer function is a great built-in utility.
I do wish that I could enter 0 lbs as a weight for bodyweight exercises, but the app will not record that.
I also wish I could edit a workout history session after it has been created for a given date & time. Instead the app will create a new workout history date and time for added exercises to the same session.

Great app for TUL/HIT lifters
If you think this app is "just a timer" - then you haven't worked out using time under load principles. Granted, this app lacks the polish of things like "Fit Buddy", but nothing else can log this kind of workout method. The workout history with TUL and average rest time calculations are very valuable. Could you do the same thing with a stop watch, note pad and pencil? Probably. But I could also have found a sheet of paper, hand written this review, and mailed it to Cupertino. One is just more efficient than the other.
Things I would like to see (really hoping the dev sticks with this app):
1) Some kind of audio feedback when I touch "stop" so I know I've stopped the timer without looking.
2) Once I've touched "stop" - don't allow a new timer to be started unless I go back to the main Session screen first. When I'm at complete muscular failure at the end of a set and I slap at the phone to stop the timer, sometimes I accidentally hit the screen button twice, which starts a new timer and loses the time from my actual set.
3) Some kind of button on the Session screen to let me save the session and clear the data. Perhaps it's an anal request, but I really want to be able to push a button to say "I am done with this workout".
4) This is a long shot, but I'd like an option to have audible feedback during the set (i.e. a voice that tells me "30 seconds completed").
All in all - kudos to the developer as this is a very niche app and likely a very small market. I doubt you'll ever earn enough revenue on this app to even come close to the amount of time you'll put into it. But - thanks for making the effort.

Should be free
This app isn't worth $1.99. It should be free. Its basically just a timer & u add (by typing) you own routines in manually. This is something I or anyone else could have done w/a notepad & a stopwatch.
Simple and to the point
If you're a follower of HIT training then this app is for you. It does just what's required to log your progress and nothing more. No unnecessary frills - just like the HIT philosophy itself.
When I first purchased I emailed the developer with a couple of suggestions and hewre they are in this update. Great service. Thank you.
