This used to be the BEST scanner app but not everything is behind a paywall. Such a shame as no new features have been added, just a cash grab.
Tries to get signup immediately
Didn’t even try it as I dont want to commit to subscription before even trying the app. It uses the classic “free trial” that requires a subscription commitment beforehand.

Subscription addition
Entire app and features used to be free. Now asking subscription for loyal users. No major features added, just bug fixes.
Now Paywalled
Absolutely despicable business practices. Was free for years, and suddenly changed to a STEEPLY priced subscription model. Watch the developers reply to my review with the same cookie cutter template message about reaching out over email. Guaranteed it won’t pertain to my review whatsoever.
Developers sold out
This app used to be the best 3D scanning app on the App Store, and was completely FREE. But then the developers got really greedy and decided to start charging money for even basic features. I will not be using this app until it is completely free again. And developers? Shame on you.
The subscription curse meets another app.
I’ve used this app for quite a while, it’s not incredible but it was at least free.
Unfortunately the seller has decided to put everything behind a subscription without offering a one off purchase, so I refuse to pay weekly for something I was already able to do, until the end of time. Either add a one off purchase or don’t break something that was already free.

Was a great app until they locked half the options behind a subscription

It was helpful until this year and it asked me to pay. And im ok to pay if I use it for this money. But i can use it once in some months and it doesn’t worth it. Need to find a better option. So sad.
Used to be free now is $99 a year
Used to be free but now works on a weekly subscription model, you can’t even just buy the app. Was such a great app too. Would have been nice to be able to get a perpetual licence.

Used this app for years. When they started charging, they took years of scans hostage. Sad to see this app on its death spiral.
Expensive for the limitations of an app
This was a usable app, but putting it behind a paywall means that I won’t use it all. I would have considered a once off purchase but expecting me to pay a rather expensive subscription for an app with its limitations is ridiculous, I would rather spend 4 years worth of subscription on an actual 3d scanner before paying for this expensive subscription. Was free. Now 70 USD!?
TL;DR - Laan Labs sold the app in July 2025 to a private investor.
I downloaded this app in early-2025 and used it for some fun scans of small objects, vehicle details, and some larger architectural details. I was able to scan, adjust, and export my data.
Now, I open the app in July 2026 and I’m confronted with a “free trial” to be followed by 70 USD annual subscription?
I will be looking elsewhere for my scanning needs. This is highway robbery to a hobbyist who gets Fusion360 for FREE from autodesk.

Great Features, Previously Free, Now Paid.
1 star because the app was intentionally downgraded. This app was previously fully functional in January 2026 for free.
If you choose the Lidar mode (the one without the diamond which implies it’s still a free feature) and start scanning, the subscription popup appears.

I purchased this app years ago when
I first got my ipad pro and it was not subscription based back then but today I opened the app and now its offering me free 7 day trial and subscription prices for an app I purchased and used before with no subscription. i’ll delete the app before I subscribe to an app I already bought.
