Women are undertaking over 75% of the total unpaid care work globally – there is no country in the world where this is equal. They are unable to take on paid work because of unpaid care responsibilities. By recognising and addressing the unequal and heavy share of unpaid work and care done by women globally can increase their participation in paid work and education, their leisure time, health, and freedom and push forward progress towards a gender-just society.
