What happened to the reviews after the latest update

Well, they removed with his update the music scan feature. Plenty of users complained that this update is a step back and wish they had never updated the app. I agree that it is a step back. If you want to keep the music identification do NOT update.

But what game is apple playing? Where are those reviews suddenly?
The same happened to the gateguru app. I guess the developer can ask apple to remove reviews if it is not to the developers liking.
Come on apple you can do better.

Careful of the height above the page

Despite the reviews I decided to try this app. At first I had the same problem that others have noted. Then I brought the phone closer to the page so it was in the 4 to 7 inches range. Now I get the correct behavior. Test magazine is cooking light and phone is iPhone 5.

LOVE THIS!!

Omg I am ADDICTED to this app! Seriously! This is going to be awesome if I can use it on a lot of magazines! I always want recipes in a magazine at the doctor's office and other places, now I can use this and in two seconds have it saved! Soooo easy to use too! LOVE THIS!!!

Makes the magazine come to life

I downloaded this to view the digital watermarks in the CostcoConnection magazine. You hold the camera over the right part of the page for just a second, and you see a video related to the article. It works fast and flawlessly (if you hold the camera close so that the little watermark mostly fills the screen).

Doesn't work with iPod 4th & Cooking Light

I attempted this a few months ago on my iPod - trying to scan Cooking Light recipes. It didn't work. Would not even take the pic. My friend tried on her phone and it worked. I got the new issue of CL promoting this so I tried it again. Still not working. Bottom line if you use your iPod you will be out of luck. Too bad because it is a good idea.
My low rating is more for the CL/Digimarc collaboration than on Digimarc itself.

Works Great

I read about this app in the Costco magazine. I opened the app on my iPad, directions were on the screen, I held the iPad over a magazine picture and automatically a video appeared containing more information on what I was reading. Love it.

Picture taking

Soooo I tried taking a picture of a recipe in SL and nothing happened. Was feeling the frustration of a previous reviewer. Then I discovered I had to take a picture of the picture of the dish I wanted the recipe for. Then it was all good. Haven't tried the rest of the features yet so at this point I'm giving it a 3.

Digimarc: Good, Cooking Light: Fail

I keep trying these app based magazines and as an effective, and hopefully productive mechanism for delivering content on great technology. It is always a major disappointment. Digimarc was able to reasonably identify the recipes by taking a picture. As far as the experience of consuming the recipe content from Cooking Light, well it was just plain awful, from recipe management to producing shopping lists. A complete failure!

Works great!

I just downloaded this app a few minutes ago & it works perfectly! I have already scanned 4 recipes. I was hesitant to download it, after one of the previous reviewers had trouble taking the pictures. On the pictures that have the little picture that says "CL SCAN & save recipes" you just hold your phone a few inches above the picture & it takes a picture automatically. Open the app first, then hold your phone above the picture. Easy as can be! I have an iphone4.

Works for me

I downloaded the app because of Cooking Light magazine. It's very useful for scanning the pic right before you head to the grocery store. It does save the recipes in history. It seems to do exactly what it says it will do. I can't really complain.
.... And now I see there are other features forensic that look fun to try .
