Paid app in disguise

You only get a few basic categories for free and everything else is $3.99 a piece. Pretty steep if you ask me. Also, didn't like the picture of a woman's breasts in a lacy black bra in the body parts flashcards. Good thing I previewed this before letting my 5 year old who attends a German Immersion school use it. I deleted it right away and will continue to look for something that is actually value for the money and appropriate for the whole family.

Pretty good, by comparison

I took some German courses about 5 years ago, but recently I have really wanted to enhance my German vocabulary so that I might speak it fluently. This app is fantastic for that purpose. It provides so many tools that other apps lack. It helps you learn words, including the gender, by teaching you to say the word, read the word, write the word and hear the word. I have experienced a few bugs, but other than that this app is fantastic!

Just testing it out and it seems pretty good

Like the title, this app seems like it will help me learn German because it has hands on practice which makes you remember the words easier. After using it and switching sections, I motioned that it was speaking the next word and now the one I was on. This was a little confusing and annoying but only happens in one section that I have noticed. If this is fixed then this app deserves a 5 star

Love to speak German now!

I have been wanting to go to Germany most of my life because I did family research and some of my ancestors trace back there so I would love to go their and once I get time to sit down and learn it, I will probably be speaking it!

Former Ripoff OR Current Bait-and-Switch?

They just "lowered" the price on these Basic language packs (French, German, Italian, and Spanish) from $9.99 to "FREE", so I had to try each of them. Disappointment! Either they were horrendously overpriced before, or they emasculated the "free" part -- the app is just a teaser, shilling all of their add-ons. If they stripped it down, they are NOT offering the same application for a drop in price, and should have the integrity to say so.

BTW, the description of the Spanish application, for example, the day BEFORE the price drop said that there was "NO HIDDEN COST: There is NO hidden cost inside. Once you buy the app you can access everything inside without asking for extra payment at later stage." and everything was included. NOW, however, the description says "Try before you buy", and there are multiple in-app purchase. (See the "for iPhone" versions to note the difference in wording.) Also, the "More than 1,000 words and phrases" shrank to about 200 by my count (at least for the "free" portion).

At this point, I wouldn't buy the full program from them, because I obviously can't trust them to deliver on what they promise.
