Updated both iPod and iPad versions. • new pattern types and a wider varitey of “basic” patterns are included. • the iPod version now only works with numbers 1 to 10. • the iPad version still incorporates an option to use two 10 Frames with up to 20 chips. • the iPad version also includes a “challenge” level of patterns. The patterns in the “challenge” set include a wider variety of “basic” pattens and sets of chips randomly placed in a 5x5 grid that isn't visible... in other words, the challenge displays are not always in a recognizable pattern.

Pattern Sets 1.3.4 • Now compatible with the newest, 4th Generation iPad. Works on all previous generations of the iPad and the new iPad mini. • Should also now work on the iPhone 5... However, I don’t have one to test it on. It does work on the newest iPod. • Added an option for 3.5 seconds on show pattern on iPad and iPod versions • Fixed a wayward chip (15 in 10 Frames) on iPod version.

Description of Pattern Sets

Subitizing, or quickly recognizing the quantity of objects in a group without having to count, is an important number sense skill. Practice recognizing the number of dots in a variety of pattern types including from 1 to 10 dots. Dice patterns and patterns based on 10-frames are included. Patterns are made with one or two colors. Set the length of time a pattern is shown and the range of dots displayed. The iPad version also incorporates up to 20 dots and two 10 Frames Pattern Sets is one app in the NumberSense series designed at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois for K-2 grade students.
