Stylish

I tried the free version (Sand Timer) and liked it so much I immediately bought the full version. It's stylish and simple, giving you four timers; two kitchen timers, a stopwatch, and a long term timer that can be used as an alarm. If the app is closed it will pop up a message and play a tune when time is up, and there's lots of nice music, as well as alarm sounds to choose from. An excellent example of an app that is focused, so that it does what you want and does it well, without a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles.

Beautiful

A beautiful and elegantly designed app, exactly what I was looking for. Very easy to use, doesn't go off to sleep when you're in the middle of cooking etc and all the timers can be operated at the same time if necessary. I'm finding more and more reasons to use it. You'll love it too.

Very nice

I was looking for an app to help me time some online tests. This is it. It has a nice relaxing default colour scheme and the visuals are good unlike some others that have milliseconds flying by at a disturbing rate. I see that the developer has fixed some previous comments such as other colour schemes costing extra and incorrect orientation.

Beautiful but disappointing.

All the features look stunning, but there are several features that one would expect from an app like this that are missing:

* Ability to use music for alarms
* Alarm clock/wake up alarms
* Ability to hide start/stop, reset, and volume controls and just show the time or the hourglass. An app this beautiful would work very nicely in presentations or competitions when piped to a TV, but the on-screen controls are very unwelcome in that context. I'd love to be able to hide them and just start/stop a timer/hourglass with a tap and reset with a double-tap.

Lastly, like the previous reviewer noted, there is a delay when starting the stopwatch, which may be unacceptable for sporting events or other strictly timed competitions.

Easy to use

I'd just bought another timer and spent 10 minutes trying to to program it. I gave up and went back to the Apps store to get this one. What a fantastic, easy to use, easy to read timer! It's idiot proof, which is perfect for me. Don't waste your money on other timers, get this one! It's the best looking one too!

Best timer

It really is the best timer! I love it! There is one flaw...69p each per new colour theme !??! 69p to unlock all three is bad enough but 69p each !??! People have already paid 69p for the app! Just unlock the themes for free please!

Disappointing

You would think given the iPhone's motion sensors that the traditional sand egg timer would start counting in the opposite direction when the phone was turned upside down! Nope. Better to stick with the built in timer app - nothing new here at all other than graphics.

You Are Kidding Me

I already purchased this app. Now they have updated it and want .99 cents not just to allow you to change the color, but .99 for each additional color? Color changing should have been a standard feature of the original App. Next update expect to be charged .99 for each notification sound.

I am deleting this app immediately and don't plan to ever purchase another app from this short-sighted, money-hungry developer.

Do yourself a favor, purchase one of the many other feature-rich timers out there that won't ask for more money for features that should be free.

Skeuomorphic to its own detriment

I had high hopes or this app.

Let's start off with the good:
β€’ You can copy and paste all your lap times. This is a fantastic feature, and of tremendous help for test takers.

Now the bad:
β€’ Old-style digital clock face. Come on! The reason why old clocks looked as they did were because they had primitive LED number lighting. Why replicate such horrendous typeface?

β€’ Timers have a specific purpose, and should emphasize usability first. Every graphical UI element serves as a distraction and UI hog that could have been replace with larger (emphasis on: LARGER) stop/start and lap buttons and larger numbers!

β€’ CONTRAST (and the lack thereof). The combination of tiny numbers and low contrast (light blue background with lightly lighter blue numbers, seriously) preclude readability beyond 4 feet.

β€’ LAG. After pressing "lap", the lap display takes a half-a-second to reset reset to zero. That's too long, and it makes the user unsure of whether they tapped it or not, leading to frustrating double taps.

Suggestion to the dev: Though I generally don't like skeuomorphic designs, of you're going to do it, follow in the steps of the tweetbot developer (forgot their name).

Cool Timer!

I use this timer for when I'm studying chess at home; I use the countdown timer. I do like the diminishing 100% circle, and the option to do the opposite, count up to the end of the desired set time, is cool, too. I still prefer countdown, though, for some reason. I would really like to see this particular mode with the option for compound timing per session: for example, what if at the end of 60 minutes I wanted to consider how I'm feeling and felt I could go a half hour more… then without interrupting what I'm doing, it would be counting down that second half hour already.

For the chronograph, I suggest 'save' and 'delete record' features.

ALSO, It would be REALLY NICE if this timer would give a recurring 5-minute reminder jingle when it's stopped and the app is closed in the background. there have been many times when I have forgotten to re-start the timer.

As a suggestion to the person who demanded contrast control, you might want to use the 'brightness' in the iPhone's 'settings' app.
