  • Overly sensitive

This app was ok, but it was overly sensitive to mistakes and my son felt discouraged very quickly. he now hates it and so we've stopped using it before he is discouraged from writing all together.
  • UK style text

This is a fine app, and probably were I in the UK I would give it 4 stars. The sensors seem a little too touchy in some spots and not rigorous enough in others. More significantly, most of the letter forms and some of the ways of writing them do not conform to US style. If a child is using another writing handbook or is in school, this is likely to confuse them. On the good side, can't beat the charming voices of British schoolchildren encouraging your child along!

  • Nice!

This is a very good app to teach your child with! It really shows the child how to write, and the graphics and teaching methods add a little fun to their learning! Except the k, they show a cursive k, they should have cursive on here to though, but they dont.
  • we love it

i use this app at school , it is excellent and helps children get it right
  • Great App!

As a teacher I highly recommend this app. Wish they would add cursive!
  • Only One Thing Missing

Please add a clear button, so the bobble doesn't cover the letter. I can restart after I fully close the app, by double clicking the home button, but I don't think I should have to exit the whole program. The interface is good and I like the letter forms. This is the kind of flowing print I was looking for. As a dyslexic, I am very against stick and ball style printing. This kind is more efficient, prevents reversals, encourages reading, and makes cursive easier later on. Good work.

  • Not bad off to good start

Being an occupational therapist I am looking for a good letter formation program. I would fix the following: f it has a funny tail at the end stop it straight, q the tail needs to be rounded not pointed, the number4 needs to be closed at the top or open more (straight down then across), & the number one: made it a straight line. I love how you can pick the letter to write. This is great. Now the next phrase is capital letters. Make an option in your program to made the tracing area wider for children that are younger or children who don't have good control yet. I really like the fact that you have to start the letter in the correct spot. This is a problem that children have; they want to start letters from the line. This is a plus. In the next phase add a line so the child know where the letter sits on the line. Developmentally children should start writing capitals first. Made sure your capital letter use more straight lines and not fancy curvy lines. Pre-writing shapes is always better for a 4 year old to start with. In this order: vertical line, horizontal line, circle. Plus mark or cross, square, diagonal line, triangle, & diamond vertical then horizontal. Tracing wide line to thin lines progressing to imitation (demo now you try), next phase is show a picture of the shape and have child draw it. The finally phase is you say draw a ______ shape and have the child draw it with no model. Your app is off to a great start. I look forward in seeing where it goes. At the present time I would give it 3 of 5 stars but I have not given any of the other letter apps higher than 2.

  • Try again

Great concept, but, after you miss the first time on a letter, it keeps saying "try again," even if the child gets it right the second time. Pretty disheartening for a four year old. Fix that and I think this will be good.
