Photo Splash photo editor app User Reviews

Useless without subscription.

Firstly within about 3 seconds of loading it asks you to review the app, not a good start, immediately gets your back up! Why do apps do this? It’s irritating and makes me hate your app immediately!
It only has vey basic editing which you can’t export without a watermark, every time you try and select anything different up pops up a full screen advertisement wanting you to subscribe, this is the sort of app that’s only going to get occasional use so subscribing would be a waste of money, if I could buy it outfight for a small fee then I wouldn’t mind but it’s just another case of companies getting greedy, so no thanks I won’t be subscribing I’ve already found a really good alternative that I can make a one off payment for.

Glitchy

Rip off

How many gimmicks do developers think we can afford‽

I've had this app for *years* but haven't been doing any color splash work for a long time. Today, I have a project, and I'm checking out my apps - to find out that the price of this has shot up tremendously. $31 for a year‽ No way to own‽ I could dig through my records for what the cost was when I last used it, just to see how absurd it has become, but I'll probably just move on to my other similar apps to find one that's reasonably priced for the functions available. At least some developers grandfather in users who have had the app for years- but nope. Not these guys.

I'm all for a living wage, don't get me wrong, but the cost of doing business surely hasn't gone up so much that every developer “needs” to charge $25-$50+ annually sometimes without even an option to buy. This isn't an all-around editor- it changes colors and adds some gimmicks.

Wouldn't it be nice if Apple or Google add Color Splash and/or Recolor to their basic editors? Once upon a time they didn't include a crop tool (not that some huge %age of people seem to know how to use it!) and other tools I had to buy. I don't care for monopolies but if developers are acting in concert with each other on the cost of apps (and g-d subscriptions!) there may as well be one already.

Never stops trying to charge you for more

This app continually tries to charge for services already purchased. They make some small change and then try to charge for it.

I liked the original app, then they added a few things I didn’t want and made me repurchase it. I liked it, so I did. Then they did it again… I have other apps that already offer the things they added and I don’t like the way they do business. I wouldn’t get it again.

Lacks Color Options

I’ve used lots of these types of apps. I think this one is about as user-friendly as I’ve found. But, I do think it has one major drawback. The color options available when colorizing a photo are very much lacking. There is no way to produce darker colors or matte colors, so oftentimes the final product comes out looking childish or silly. That being said, when your project calls for bright or neon colors, Photo Splash is great.

Nothing free

Can’t even test the app on one photo before handing them money. Complete garbage.

Used to be a great app - got greedy

This is a classic app on the platform and was a go to for fixing up the special photo. I was glad to see it as a “paid for” app as I wanted to ensure it continued to be supported for a long time. However $30/year is ridiculous for an app that is used a few times a year. Would love to support the project if the subscription was more reasonable. Particularly for few times I used it. Or. Would even be interested in a “lifetime” fee.

Really confusing

I downloaded this app and can’t seem to upgrade to the premium option, it just goes round and round and round asking me to pay repeatedly. Not a great user experience if I’m honest. Tried following the developers instructions about pressing restore but to no avail. Im sure the app is great, just a shame I won’t be able to tap into its full potential.

Waste of time

You literally can’t use a single part of this app without paying for it. You can select options and be forced to watch ads for other photo editors, but every practical part of this app is locked unless you pay. I don’t even understand why they bother to allow you to download it for free. If it were a paid app from the beginning, at least I could give them points for being honest.

Not what it used to be (and what I’d paid for)

As others have said. I recall buying this app in the past, only to find it now unsupported and replaced by a functionally inferior dumbed down replacement behind an extortionate series of paywalls and adverts.

Companies are abusing the fact that they can remove apps people have paid hard earned money for under the guise of not supporting it for current iOS versions.

Next time I buy a tin of beans I’ll be mindful of the manufacturer being able to remove it from my cupboard in order to sell me another (smaller) one at their discretion.
