  • Lots of potential

This app has fantastic potential to eliminate the dictaphone from my pocket. It is frustratingly close to being awesome. It desperately needs some improvements like: feedback to show completed items or an easy swipe left to delete dictation sent to staff, more intuitive controls and a zoom function when editing a recording - it's really hard to insert/overwrite dictation at present due to awkward interface design. The good news is the dictation hub works perfectly - so this is awesome for short dictations - if only I could have a one button upload instead of a two button submission process....

  • Purchased app-but still trial??

Work for FCPS in Colorado and upload all of our reports via this app. Regardless of our agency purchasing the app it still only allows a trial period. We are not able to access all of the features, but it still is useable. Good app otherwise!
  • Doesn't work well and now forced subscription

After finally getting this app and my office transcription kit to work (due to problems with the Philips transcription software not recognising the M4a files produced by this app and Philips not quite understanding that this could be a problem) you update the app and now it does not record. When I hit record I get a slight red glow at the top of the screen then nothing and then you take away the free use of the app and force me into a paid subscription service! Philips, I really would expect more from you when it comes to dictation. Why are you finding this system so difficult to get right? Is it right to screw your existing customers? I'm embarrassed for you because it makes you look so incompetent and greedy.

  • GreatnProgram

This is a great program, which turns my iPhone 6 into a seamless dictation device. Files are easily transmitted to the dictation hub, and end up on my legal assistant's computer as both text and clear voice files for easy transcription. My only complaint is that occasionally, the program locks up. The good news is that when that happens, all I have to do is power-down and restart the iPhone, and i'm back in business.

  • Perfect Medical Dictation App

Meets HITECH security requirements and is extremely convenient to use. It obviously requires an in-house or transcription service with integrated server capacity but odds are you have that capacity if you use a transcriptionist already. Never lose a dictation if you set it to retain the files for a longer period of time. I rename each file to coincide with my electronic dictation markers in our EHR in case I need to resend. Aside from Dragon (which is not and never will be an equivalent dictation option, it's not a human) this is much cheaper than a transcription service integrated through your EHR vendor, yet you give up none of the bells and whistles!

  • Dictating

App works very well. Gives clear sounding dictation. Recent upgrade much improved as prior some problem upload files which now fixed
  • MP3 output required

Good app, but it would be better if there were a variety of output options available to select in the settings before making dictations and emailing them, as not all dictation software works with .m4a format. I'd suggest having the option to create .mp3 recordings would make this a great app.
  • Unpolished, but works.

I am a lawyer and I use the app for dictating. It works well once set up, but has a couple bugs, isn't terribly fast, doesn't sync well with speechExec, and could generally do well with a good polish. I do not think the programmers who made his have actually dictated in their lives.

Good for a few dictations a day. Avoid if you have a very busy practice.

  • Part of a bigger system

This is part of the SpeechExec system, and is useless without the backend pieces (which many people seem to have missed). The backend (especially the integration with Dragon Legal/Medical/Professional is very nice, but it is a full-fledged system-albeit one that scales nicely to a single user.

That said, this app is very nice and easy to use and configure, with some nice routing capabilities.

  • App did not re-open, all data lost!

I recorded a 40 minute interview to transcribe later. It was saved on the app/internal memory. But as I returned to it a day later, despite several attempts the app would not launch and so the interview was lost. Very frustrating, very inconvenient, very disappointed. I had no reply from their support.
I did think the functionality of being able to easily scan backwards and forwards through your recording was superb and very useful when transcribing, I've not seen any other app that has this function.
But sadly I have no faith in it so it has now been deleted.
