Excellent App!
I used to have an App about two years ago that was as versatile as PaintFX. Unfortunately I either deleted or updated that App and since then I've been looking for something to replace it with. Along comes PaintFX!
The best feature for me is the paint feature which allows me to select only those parts of a photo that I want to enhance.

Incredible/but no longer working. :(
One of the easiest editing apps I use and it delivers every time. Love the fact you can intricately edit with pan/zoom. The end result is superb. (Majenta).
HOWEVER!!!!!!! It has now decided to crash everytime I open app.... I was giving this a full whack of gold stars.... but bc of this let down I've reduced it down to a poultry one.

Great, why change it?
Always a great app, but just like 'Windows' there's always someone wanting to make it 'better'........not necessary in this case - unless you're one of those people craving their 15 seconds of fame by posting everything you create........?

Limited & Confusing
Seems riddled with caveats and limitations. On the iPad, you can only edit your photo in portrait orientation. Only allowed to crop to a square - and there is no way to arbitrarily rotate a picture. Masks cannot be saved, and disappear once an effect is applied. The confusing 'Layers' button does not actually give you access to layers. The control for most of the effects is in the BRUSH panel, not in effects. And the list goes on.
If this were a '1.0' release, this would be an extremely promising app. But for an app that is on version 5.0, more polish should be expected.Show lessicouto

It's a really great app for photo effects, you can do so much with it. I've got lots of editing apps, but since getting this one, it's the only one I use.
Really simple to use after you've played with a couple of pictures.

This app is excellent it just needs to be a bit more stable as it does tend to crash a fair bit. I would like to see scaling for some of the effects like the cracked paint so you could scale it to your particular picture. SPRITE LABS APPS UNRELIABILITY
First, Photo Captions Premium - Now PaintFX!
Sprite Labs is REALLY letting down paying customers!
An update for "minor bug fixes" on 20 Feb 13 causes PHOTO CAPTIONS PREMIUM to crash, the app has not opened since that update. The developer has ignored ALL queries from customers as to when we might expect an update to fix the app.
NOW ANOTHER paid APP from SPRITE proves unreliable: PaintFX has started randomly crashing when I'm in the middle of an edit & losing all work, meaning I gave to start over, do 10+ saves (per design) to avoid losing my projects...
APPLE REFUSES TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST THIS DEVELOPER with the excuse that I purchased the apps "too long ago" for a refund (in spite of the fact that APPs functioned as they were meant to UNTIL updates).
Sprite Labs used to be a fantastic app developer - I purchased the two apps listed above, plus 2 more by this developer & have used them in my design work.
When you have to chase a developer down on the Internet & FINALLY locate them on FB (because the feedback form on their website also CRASHES WHEN YOU TRY TO SUBMIT FORM), only to be ignored by them - that should be a warning sign!

Exceptional
All of my devices are jam packed with image editing apps, PaintFX is by far the best out of them all. The best feature is the ability to apply effects to only some of the image if you wish, this creates endless possibilities to my editing. I also like that each effect can be adjusted in strength (using the opacity meter) The results are great, and you don't lose any picture quality like most other editing apps.Show lessThis game can be fun$$$

I have so many photo editing apps and none even come close to this one! The ability to control which part of the photo you wish to apply the effect to is awesome, and I especially love the feature of being able to blend photos together. Great work guys! :-)Miss KittieKat
