Fixed small mathematical error in Emergency Drug Calculator

1.1.2

January 4, 2012

Minor fixes with keyboard dismissal. Now compatible with iOS 5. Thank you for your patience. We have successfully fixed all of the iOS 5 bugs (as well as a couple of older ones). Also, introducing 4 new calculators. 1. Steroid Conversion Calculator 2. TPLO Rotation Calculator 3. Urine Output 4. Urea Reduction Ratio This solidifies DVM Calc as the most comprehensive veterinary calculator, with 30 practical calculators, 15 specific CRI calculators, and 10 toxicity calculators. The Steroid Conversion Calculator allows you to convert the equivalent doses of 8 different, commonly used, steroids. It helps us remember things like…20mg of Dexamethasone is equivalent to 150mg of Prednisone. We have also included information on relative mineralocortocoid potency and duration of action. The TPLO Rotation Calculator is helpful for those of us that get tired of having to walk to the OR to double check the rotation of our next TPLO. Now it is right on your iPhone. We’ve used the actual trigonometry calculation, so this calculator is very precise. The Urine Output calculator is a handy, very practical calculator. We realize the math isn’t that difficult, but, as an all-inclusive veterinary medical calculator, we couldn’t leave this one out. For clinicians performing feline peritoneal dialysis, the Urea Reduction Ratio calculator should come in helpful. This calculation is published in a recent JVIM article. If you find DVM Calc helpful, please don’t forget to rate it or review it after every update. Your ratings and reviews help keep us excited about adding new features. You can also find us on Facebook, which is a great place for feedback, comments or suggestions. Thanks again for all your support.

Reviews of DVM Calc

  • Feline Surgical Fluid Rate

It is my understanding that cats should have a lower fluid rate than dogs for surgery. I believe it’s 3 ml/kg/hr. I’m concerned that if this is true, the app is overdosing cats and possibly putting these patients at risk. Thank you.
  • Dextrose CRI?

Kinda bummed. Was hoping it had a calculator for dextrose CRIs.
  • No longer works!

I have iOS 11 update and this app does not work anymore. Please make it compatible as I did pay for this service.
