  • Lovely app

    My son loves these apps. I would like to see the order randomized though as he know the order now and the voice doesn't even get a chance to speak before he is tapping it. Thanks for some beautiful Montessori apps.
  • Too much talking by voice over

    My 3yo does enjoy the app, but even he is frustrated by the constant talking of the voice over. He also find the accent amusing, wish there was a choice in voice over accent. As mentioned with another of these apps it isn't in keeping with the Montessori method to be praising with the use of phrases like 'great job'

    Great app. My 3 yr old twins love it! Would like to get more shapes please and if you can have a UK or Australian accent option would be fantastic.

    This app is meant for quiet study. maybe not classroom, but it does teach shapes.
  • Not as interactive as it should be; not engaging for age group

    I don’t think this is an app worthwhile for classroom use. It is not an engaging application and could be more effective if used with flashcards rather than the iPad. It is not as interactive as it leads on to be. In the directions it says to “place” the shape in the tray. Instead of physically moving the shape to the tray by touching and dragging, the student only has to touch it and the app does the dragging automatically. This may not be as effective for students when learning shapes and their names.
    For some of the activities, the app has three different shapes with thick lines and thin lines. The app asks the student to sort their shape regarding the thickness of the line along with their shape. This task is extra and does not correlate with any of the Common Core standards.
    One part of the app that I did like for Kindergartners is that it lets them have the option to learn the shapes and then practice them. It also has audio prompts that give the students directions on what shapes to match to each other. This is helpful because younger students will need this audio direction rather than reading directions. However, the students may become bored with listening to the same slow voice repeatedly.
