Reviews of Jungle Chase

    First, the cons:
1)The key to being efficient in Morse code is to recognize the sound of each character (dits and dahs)... this game does NOT do that... instead, you get the faint sound of something like a drum beat where the dits and dahs all sound alike.
2)every single game starts out very slow, regardless of what level you’re at... probably because there are no levels. There’s no option to start out at a level 2 where things are moving at a faster pace... at the end of every game, that’s it... you’re back to going super slow again.
3)the zero and the letter O both look the same, and if you assume incorrectly it’ll count against you.
4)if you aren’t paying attention to your score, during the game you’ll have no idea what score you achieved once the game ends because the score isn’t displayed after the game ends.
    5) there’s no reverse option that plays a Morse code sound to let you tell it which character you heard.
    6) there’s no link in the app to contact the developer.
    Ok, now the pros:
1)If you want to learn how to key each letter in Morse code, this will accomplish that, and it’s actually pretty entertaining at the same time.
2)the game has real potential. It won’t likely be adopted by the CW community until it starts using real Morse code sounds to teach what the letters sound like, but if that ever changes the price of the app could go up and it’s better to buy it now while it’s cheap. Worst case you’ll at least get some practice with keying the letters
    3) the game picks up pace as you go, forcing you to key the letters faster and faster over time. That part is truly an ideal concept.
    4) the overall look and feel of the app is really nice, far beyond the typical Morse code app
    5) it pushes you to start learning numbers and punctuation (otherwise you can’t compete for high scores)... some people complain about this, but I see it as a plus if your goal is to actually learn Morse code.
Overall, the fact that you’re considering this app and reading this review probably means you’ve got some interest in learning Morse code ... and in my humble opinion anyone with even the slightest interest should go ahead and get this app. It’s not the end all beat all, but it’ll almost certainly improve your Morse code skills and that’s well worth buying the developer a cup of coffee.
  • Ok if you don't mind typing at 5 wpm

    Waist of money
  • Fun, but needs improvement.

This app has definitely honed in my skills for morse code...but there needs to be more variety as far as gameplay goes.
High score system even if you don't use all characters
    Time attack game mode
Able to make more than three mistakes
Instead of letter, give the tone
